Wasn't sure where to put this. It's definitely a world issue and riddled with political implications, so I guess this is the best spot.

This is a 12-part series to educate the world about the reality of climate change.

The first episode can be viewed at the site. The episode covers a lot of ground, including the political and religious ideologies that hinder awareness of the problems at hand.

You can't expect us to watch such a video, it would require too many of us to pull our heads out of the sand. That might be uncomfortable.

Why would I watch the first episode if I don't have access to the rest of them?
To know if they are worth illegally downloading?

Seriously... Showtime, HBO, ect. really need to find a way to get out of their contracts with the big cable/satellite providers so they can offer their material via online services too. HBO seems to already have a pretty good streaming setup of their own, but you can't just pay for access to that... you have to have cable. Almost as annoying at the BBC not offering a full access online subscriptions for those of us outside the UK (who obviously can't pay the license fee).

I send HBO a comment about once a month about how it needs to get it's head out of it's ass and join the new century.

I have decided from my own research that it is too late to do a damn thing about climate change, other than move north before the rush.

Say there was this species of animal. And say they built this massive building in which they lived to save them from death. Then after they built this building they realize that the building is not only destroying their environment, but that there is no real way to turn back. I wonder what they would do.

how's that, exactly?

they have an exclusive content deal with the cable providers which have existed since before the internet.
the cable companies have threatened to blacklist their cable access if they provide non-cable-subscription means of obtaining their content.
so you send them a comment to what, chide them for not taking a metaphorical bullet to the head in order to make people feel better about the internet?

Yeah I know this. But contracts expire. Right now the cable providers Use HBO as a subscription sweetener, and give it away for free for 3 months, and also give it away to dissatisfied and upset customers.

I am sure that HBO has the power to renegotiate. I don't think it would be a bullet to the head. HBO has YEARS of programming it could offer for a subscription internet service.

A lot of them would die. They might even become extinct.

Climate change (or AWG to be specific) isn't a binary thing. Yeah, we are already experience some, and have a lot more coming at us due to things we can't change now... But you know the saying: "The first thing to do when you find yourself in a hole is to stop digging".
If we somehow get off our asses and address the problem, AWG might just be really bad and not catastrophic.
