Of course, he won't....neither will most so-called true-xtians....

In the 45 years since Roe v. Wade, 60 million American women have chosen to legally terminate their pregnancies in safe, clinical conditions. Prior to 1973 millions had undergone abortions that were illegal and often fatal. The issue that Roe decided was not whether women would have abortions but what kind they would choose—underground procedures or medically supervised ones that protected their health.

But what if this were no longer the case? With Roe in jeopardy, whatever the outcome of the current hearings over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination, we might want to consider what America would look like if the Right-to-Life forces achieved their long-term objective of re-criminalizing abortion within receptive states and, perhaps one day, across the nation. For this, we need only look back to a time prior to 1973 when abortion was a crime. One of the best guides to this era is The Worst of Times, a small book that provides a bracing reminder of what women seeking to terminate their pregnancies faced in the years before Roe v. Wade.

Although the book is 25 years old, it is perhaps more timely now than when it was written in an era when Roe appeared to be settled law. The author, abortion-rights lawyer Patricia Miller, takes us methodically through a harrowing landscape of illegal abortion that encompasses survivors, practitioners, coroners, policemen and, most devastating, the children of women who died from illegal abortions.

Don't worry. If you make abortion illegal, Canada can set up a number of abortion clinics right across the border.

While you're here to murder your defenceless baby, also think about grabbing a meal, taking in a show or visiting one of our lovely provincial parks. We may disdainfully despise Americans as a people, but we're big fans of your tourist dollars.

You're missing the point - they either see this as properly a state matter (because it could be murder after all, and regulating a local business to the point where it shuts down is fine), or as punishment for murdering a baby (Or, in Kavanuch's case, "payback"). Regardless, not their problem.

It's possible that it will be the case were some states allow abortions & other states do not. It depends at least partially on the actions, or lack thereof, by Congress. TBH I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if Roe survives. Question for me is: "are Baird or Griswold next?"

Even if every judge was a Clarence Thomas clone, Roe vs Wade will never be overturned. Its been the law too long. The law itself is its own precedent..

You don't understand--they see these things as good!

Fundamentally, it's about making recreational sex dangerous. When you evaluate the actions of the pro-"life" side from this viewpoint they make a lot more sense.

Agreed. That's why I wonder if Baird (contraception for singles) is next, followed by Griswold (contraception for married).

I doubt that they care, but I wish these anti choice men and women would go back and read about abortions in the early part of the 20th Century. Birth control wasn't available. Women were forced to have large numbers of children, and death during childbirth wasn't that uncommon. There were long lines for the 50 cent abortionist, who was rarely qualified to do the job. Many women died due to not being able to have safe abortions, but they had no other choice available. Making abortion illegal is similar to prohibition of alcohol. It doesn't work. It causes more problems than it prevents. It's cruel. Abortion is often done our of desperation, not because a woman wants to kill her baby. A fetus isn't a baby. A zygote isn't a baby. If you believe that it is, then don't have an abortion. It's as simple as that. I've never had an abortion but I've had friends and a sister that have. They had good reasons for their decisions and I have no right to judge them. Neither do any of you.

And, as I always like to remind my Christian friends, your God, aka nature, is the biggest abortionist of all. Spontaneous abortions, aka miscarriages, are far more common than medical abortions. Again, we have a double standard. God can cause an abortion whenever it wants, but women must fight for that same right. Sickening. Denying women choice is just another way to deny women rights.

Plus, according to shitty babble, gawd gave us free will...which ought to include the choice to have an abortion. But once again, religion is self-contradictory bullshit.
