• Politics without Principles
 • Wealth without Work
 • Pleasure without Conscience
 • Knowledge without Character
 • Conscience without Morality
 • Science without Humanity
 • Worship without Sacrifice

nterestingly, you usually see the above "sins" attributed to Gandhi, as he published them in his weekly newspaper in 1925. But Gandhi is not the origin of this list. Rather it was first uttered earlier that year in a sermon delivered in Westminster Abbey by an Anglican priest named Frederick Lewis Donaldson. Here is a picture of a newspaper clipping of what Donaldson originally referred to as the "7 Deadly Social Evils":
(then that picture)

Unfortunately, I've never seen them adequately explained.

I'll start the ball rolling
 • Politics without Principles - Going into politics for the the power it can give or the rush you get lording over others.
 • Wealth without Work - Given so much money you don't know what to do with it or having no idea (nor wishing ton know) how that wealth was generated.
 • Pleasure without Conscience
 • Knowledge without Character
 • Conscience without Morality
 • Science without Humanity - Science should be in the service of humanity not our master. Using science to further your aims or power.
 • Worship without Sacrifice

Perhaps other can fill in the missing ones or expand on mine.

Politics without Principles

Donald Trump and every Republican who kept him in power.

Wealth without Work

Inherited wealth and landlords.

So, Donald Trump, again.

(Welfare recipients don't count, because they aren't wealthy.)

Pleasure without Conscience

Worship without Sacrifice

Prosperity doctrine AKA prosperity theology. (And one of these nuts is the Australian PM. I thought the Mad Monk was the worst we was going to get!)

"Worship without Sacrifice" is meaningless
All but one of the remaining 6 are equally or more gravely sins if the terms are reversed.
principles without politics
work without wealth
conscience without pleasure
morality without conscience
humanity without science

 • Politics without Principles - You're pursuing advantages for your ingroup instead of for my ingroup.
 • Wealth without Work - I don't understand how what you do contributes to production; therefore it doesn't contribute to production.
 • Pleasure without Conscience - You aren't doing it in the Missionary position.
 • Knowledge without Character - All that education was useless since it failed to convert you to my religion.
 • Conscience without Morality - You are following your conscience; you should be following my conscience.
 • Science without Humanity - Before you consider whether a hypothesis is true you must check if it's something you're permitted to believe.
 • Worship without Sacrifice -
