Violent riots underway in Kenosha, WI

So, to make sure the kids were safe, despite no evidence they were in danger,
Of course there was evidence they were in danger. A guy with felony warrants and who resisted arrest is making his way to a vehicle with children inside with a knife in his hand.
In what universe is that not evidence of a threat?
And him being related to the kids is no counterargument. Most amber alerts are against one of the parents.

the cop put the kids into mortal danger by firing his gun at in into the car 7 times. Got it.

The kids were in the back seat. The bullets went forward and next to the vehicle, not into the vehicle.

No, the officer mistakenly thought Mr. Blake was kidnapping them. Big difference.
The police have to act based on the information they have. Not information Monday morning quarterbacks have.
And I do not think it is even now certain that it would not have been kidnapping had he driven away given the violent history between him and the baby mama.

And, of course, shooting a suspect so that bullets enter the vehicle holding the children is the approved and effective method of dealing with the situation. That officer is lucky no child was struck by a bullet.

The bullets were not fired into the vehicle, but parallel to it, and in a direction away from the children. The cop most likely decided to shoot when he did precisely to avoid having to fire into the vehicle.

I wondered who was rioting in Kenosha. Forgot all about it there for a minute.

#BLMers and Antifas rioted in Kenosha. Of course you forgot all about it. Unless it's a right wing riot, people on the Left and the MSM forget/ignore it completely.

So much for claims made in this thread that Blake was not armed and that the knife that was found was really in the car and not on his person.

The decision not to charge the police officer was the only legally and morally correct one.
Perhaps for those whose morality is driven by kill whenever you are scared or kneejerk defence of police action.

But many people's whose moral compasses are not based on such shallow and dishonorable foundations will disagree. Of course, that does not justify them engaging in violence or rioting.

Explain in detail how you would justify charging these police officers with a crime (and what charges you would file if you were the DA) given that Blake

- had a felony warrant
- resisted arrest while armed
- tried to reach a vehicle where children were

Also, what do you think prosecution strategy should have been to prove these charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

You keep making the same mistake over and over again. You keep interpreting outrage at police misconduct and the use of excessive force
His admission that he (contrary to apologetics in this thread) was very much armed means that it was not excessive force.

as adulation of a person who was needlessly shot, strangled, suffocated, beaten, or brutalized.

Well, our soon-to-be Veep is "proud" of him.

There is distinct difference between what is legal and what is moral. My observation was about the morality of their actions. The decision to not charge the officer was not the only moral decision to make. I am not a lawyer and neither are you. Nor are we experts in Wisconsin law. But sometimes it is the right thing to do to charge someone even if there is a low probability of conviction.

FIFY
Of course right wing morons don't really care about violent racist coup attempts that kill multiple people and trash the Nation's Capitol building in obeisance to The Big Lie, while trying to do away with democracy - they'd rather focus on the property damage caused by people pissed about a kid being shot in the back by police.

Killed multiple people on a single day, even.

The children are in the car and he is outside of the car. Do you have any evidence (other than his race) that he acting in a threatening manner to his children?

He was kidnapping them.

A non-custodial parent taking the kids when they aren't supposed to is kidnapping.

Besides, by his own admission we have him armed and refusing police orders at gunpoint to drop his weapon.

You sure about he was not supposed to have his children, and that would have been kidnapping?

Oh, I forgot - that means automatic execution in the case of a black man.

Heh, if a police officer pulls his gun and tells you to stop, you stop. Unless you're angling for a Darwin award.

The 911 call included the claim that Jacob Blake stole his baby mama's car keys. Kidnapping is a reasonable assumption under the circumstances.
In any case, if police tell you to stop, you stop. You don't take a knife and approach some kids.

Under these circumstances a white man would have been shot too. Note that plenty of white people get shot by police - it's just that there aren't riots afterwards.

So have #BLMers. Remember Micah Johnson?

But in any case, even if it was true that #BLMers killed only one person per day, is that really better given how many days #BLMers have rioted and what the cumulative death toll has been?

The hate continues.

Not a right winger, certainly not a moron and I do care about the attack on the Capitol.

However, your side is the one that wants to dismiss #BLM/Antifa rioting. You always keep minimizing it as just "property damage" even though many people have been killed during these riots.
And "Property damage" is also significant. When people work hard for what they have, it is unconscionable that you defend thugs who want to steal and destroy just because they are angry.
