The convicted killed of Robert F. Kennedy is up for parole again, and no one is standing in the way of this attempt. No one has filed any paperwork to say he shouldn't be paroled, which will likely mean he is solely at the mercy of the parole board.
Sirhan Sirhan hasn't had any issues in prison since 1972. He has served over 50 years for his crime. Word is, due to a lack of citizenship, he might be deported and there are nations that would be willing to accept him in the Middle East.
I am usually all about rehabilitation, make people back into something that can contribute to society. I feel hypocritical in rare cases where crimes are so awful, that one feels that the offender shouldn't have a chance to get out. And certainly, the idea of the killer of RFK going to a Middle Eastern country and possibly even paraded as a hero... I mean, yeah, it was over 50 years ago, but still, that wouldn't be a sign of him having been rehabilitated. Of course, he could leave the country and go into seclusion and never be heard from again.
RFK was just one person, but he did seem bigger than average. And a lot was lost with him.
