Donald the Orange and Family Sued in NY

It's kind of like a guy that says he wasn't having sex with a prostitute. He just happened to trip and fell on her while he had a $50 bill in his hand and he happened to be naked at the time. It happens to innocent Republicans all the time. This is a witch hunt!

You forgot about the "pay her a six figure sum to never talk about it to anyone" part.
Fake News! Donald said so!
Stormy: "Trump raw-dogged me, it was awkward."

Trump: "I never even met her."

Trump's personal attorney: "I have the cancelled check with the date of the 'transaction' and I personally handled the deal."

Trump: "I have no idea who this guy is."
I realize that you're being facetious here.
But Trump really does say and do things like that.

Somehow, his supporters think it makes him smart. A brilliant strategist, totally good to lead the USA.
But when Biden says something incorrect it's solid evidence that he is too old and suffering from dementia.
What's with that?
Tom

For me, it's more about who they surround themselves with.

Biden might forget the name of the Prime Minister of Senegal or some such gaffe, but his bench (to use a sports term) is deep. His staff, his appointees, and nominees are all top-notch, lifelong public servants who know the game inside and out. Yeah, "Deep State" and whatever, but they get shit done.

Trump surrounds himself with sycophants and grifters, and when he stumbles across someone actually competent he fires them the moment they tell him "well Mr. Trump, I think you're wrong." Or worse, he hires them based on looks. Is there anyone who doesn't think Alina Habba got her job for no other reason than Trump would like to sleep with her? Here's a guy who has enough money and influence to buy himself the most powerful, experienced attorneys in the world. Instead, he hired a pretty, audacious parking garage lawyer who has all but been laughed out of court.

Yeah, Biden may forget a name or two (hell, I'm pushing 60 and can't for the life of me remember the name of that girl I dated in 1995) but even if he falls over tomorrow from a stroke, there will be someone competent to take over. If Trump died in office we'd be left with...President McEnany?

Here is the point. In the civil case, Trump’s appeal is likely to work. Why? Because fraud requires a victim. There were no victims.
I have already posted the law Trump was charged under. There is nothing in that law that requires a victim.

:staffwarn:
Reminder that repetitive, low-content, belligerent comments will take you down the path of deletions, warnings, and time-outs.

Address the argument, not the person.

If your comment attacks a person, take it out.

Yabut Deplo isn’t here to argue the law.
Promoting Trump is an activity that is impaired by the truth and thrives on contortions and outright fabrications. It always devolves into a relatively sophisticated form of whataboutism.
Because there are so many flaws in Trump’s character, performance record and criminal history, it is necessary to point away from him and to the demons he has warned of, which take the form of those who oppose him.
In cruder terms, Trumpers can’t cite the law, can’t cite the facts, and are therefore reduced to banging their shoes on the table in true Soviet propagandist form.

When one of these shills asserts that “elements” of a civil complaint must be “proven” beyond reasonable doubt, their desperation becomes palpable.

When they refuse to a knowledge such basic errors, they become objects of ridicule, but not for The Faithful.

It mystifies me that the sheeples just put up with this crap, even when the sheer wrongness is overwhelmingly blatant.

Who's the victim for a speeding charge again?
The key here is that he did relentlessly. Some person screws up on one piece of paper, meh... but to make a career out of it (mainly because he was a shitty property developer), that makes the violations against the system more important. He was flagrantly violating the law.

One of his earlier quips was that that's the way people and banks do business. "Hey Officer, you can't ticket me for speeding because people speed all the time."

And now, an analysis of the outcome by an actual attorney.

Yeah, overall a pretty slam dunk case.

The people denying the outcome as fair and just are either Trump cultist sheep or grifters.

The fraud can't be any more obvious and blantant than this.

Poor poor billionaire.
According to the Wikipedia, Lara Trump's long list of career accomplishments includes:

Four years as a story coordinator and producer for the TV show Inside Edition, and then there's a bit of a gap in her resume' until she became a Fox News contributor in March of 2021.

And that's just about it.

Please, RNC...please put this person in charge of the national Republican Party as soon as possible. I'm totally sure she'll be the best choice to lead your organization over the next 7-8 months. The many down-ballot Republican candidates who are counting on support from the RNC will no doubt be happy to have "every last penny" go to her father in law's campaign. Please...proceed...

I would note that with nothing but sycophants in the GOP, Trump could more likely overthrow the results of the election. Let's not forget that Mussolini fucked his country up quite badly.

Holy bleep! I had to triple check the user name there. Haven't seen that in a while.

Found on another website:
Here's the problem. Trump lies. Hell, even if you support him, you have to accept that the man exaggerates and tells tall tales. He's not been consistent about his wealth claims.

Trump said in mid 2022 that he is worth 8 to 9 billion dollars. But this seems highly unlikely since the AG's fraud case was about Trump significantly misrepresenting his net-worth on his Statement of Financial Conditions that he prepared yearly to present to his creditors.

Trump was required by Deutsche Bank and Ladder Capital to maintain a minimum of 2.5 billion dollars of personal equity. This was necessary as Trump personally guaranteed loans on the Old Post Office and 40 Wall Street building. . He was offered by Deutsche Bank two kinds of loans. One for 4 percent plus LIBOR. (This required a personal guarantee) The second loan was for 8 percent plus LIBOR. (LIBOR is the London Exchange Bank Borrowing Rate) Trump chose to provide a personal guarantee and save 4% a year in interest.

We do know that 40 Wall Street was appraised by Cushman and Wakefield in 2015 for $540 million and yet the Trump Organization listed it at $735 million on the SFC. The SFC double counted the income of the Dean and Deluca lease. The SFC falsely represented 40 Wall Street earnings stating the building was profiting $29 million dollars annually while in fact it was losing $20 million a year.

We know that Seven Springs mansion lots were appraised at $775,000 per raw lot, an estimate that would have valued the entire seven￾mansion development at approximately $5.5 million. The SFC appraised it at $161 million

The Triplex apartment at Trump Tower was not only listed as three times the actual square footage but significantly more per square feet than any residence in the entire country.

There's a lot more data in Engoron's ruling that shows exaggeration after exaggeration. But obviously, some of this is out of date.

I admittedly DON'T know how much Trump is worth. Trump posted $5.5 million dollars for the first EJean Carroll case. He didn't purchase a bond, he put the money up himself. This seems strange. Why?

I was reading a bit more and the bonding issue gets larger and larger for Trump because of his notorious issue stiffing people and companies and the White House. Bonding agencies would fear him winning in 2024, but losing the appeal and they'd be stuck with the bill and virtually no way to get anything out of him.

Trump's lawyers are also looking into splitting up the bonding, but how do you split collateral that isn't cash? Okay, we get the 11th to 15th floor, you get the next five floors, etc... Wait... what do you mean this building already has two mortgages on it?

Website has been set up trumpdebtcounter.com to keep track of how much he owes so far. We'll see how high it goes before he handles it.

How does everyone think it will be settled?
1. Selling property to pay out
2. Property seized by the courts
3. Finding someone stupid enough to issue him a bond (at a huuuuge cost)
4. Fleeing the country (campaigning by virtual meetings?)
5. Other

I'm leaning towards #2 at the moment.

#4 would be fun, like him going to Moscow and saying:

Пожалуйста, Владимир, пожалуйста, заплатите мои долги! Пожалуйста пожалуйста пожалуйста! Я был твоим верным слугой! Пожалуйста пожалуйста пожалуйста!

Pozhaluysta, Vladimir, pozhaluysta, zaplatite moi dolgi! Pozhaluysta pozhaluysta pozhaluysta! YA byl tvoim vernym slugoy! Pozhaluysta pozhaluysta pozhaluysta!

Please, Vladimir, please pay my debts! Please, please, please! I've been your loyal servant! Please, please, please!
