The hush money indictment

Had Trump paid by pulling out his wallet and just paying her, there'd be no legal problems at all.
Had Trump done that he would have lost the 2016 election and the world would be a much different place.

How do you figure? Either way, the public in 2016 would have known nothing about Stormy's dalliance with the Psychopath (except for one pre-hush-money 2011 allegation?).
Stormy going public. That's how.

I think he may be want to get thrown in jail for contempt. Can you imagine how much money and support it would bring to him?
What if they just threw him in a holding cell for say, 3-4 hours while they "processed" him - like they would do for a drunk who was acting disorderly after disturbing the peace? Asking for MORE money because of that would make him look like a crybaby.
I think a few days in gen pop on Riker's Island may put the real fear of God in him.

Fear of god? He thinks he's god!

WUT? Those are his people, the “very best people”. He would promise every gang leader a few million bucks and they’d believe it.

Trump is trying everything he can to delay this month’s hush money criminal trial

Donald Trump’s lawyers are still pursuing multiple avenues to try to delay the start of the president’s criminal New York hush money trial that begins April 15, although none of them have much of a chance of succeeding.

Trump’s attorneys have filed a motion to postpone the criminal trial because of the publicity surrounding it – a request already been rejected by Judge Juan Merchan previously.

The former president also renewed a request this week for Merchan to recuse himself because of his daughter’s political work for Democratic politicians. Merchan dismissed that request last year, too.
New nickname: Don Delay.

Guffaw! Hyuk, hyuk!
....
Judge Juan Merchan has denied Donald Trump's latest claim of presidential immunity.

Trump would never be put into general population in prison. He would be put in segregation for his own safety.

Right. A holding cell would be perfect.

Federal judge warns of Trump’s attacks in extraordinary rebuke

A sitting federal judge on Thursday harshly criticized Donald Trump’s attacks on the judge overseeing the former president’s criminal case tied to alleged hush money payments, telling CNN that such statements threaten the viability of the American legal system.

US District Judge Reggie Walton spoke with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on “The Source” in the wake of Trump’s attacks on Judge Juan Merchan, which helped prompt the New York judge to issue a gag order on the former president earlier this week. It is unusual for federal judges to speak publicly, especially about specific political or legal situations.

“It’s very disconcerting to have someone making comments about a judge, and it’s particularly problematic when those comments are in the form of a threat, especially if they’re directed at one’s family,” said Walton, who has also faced threats, as has his daughter. “We do these jobs because we’re committed to the rule of law and we believe in the rule of law, and the rule of law can only function effectively when we have judges who are prepared to carry out their duties without the threat of potential physical harm.”
I think he may be want to get thrown in jail for contempt. Can you imagine how much money and support it would bring to him?
Trump says it would be a ‘great honor’ to be jailed for violating gag order

Nailed it.

I'm amused by the continual sense of surprise and being taken aback that people seem to have about Orange ManChild. Once you realize that he wants only two things, money and a public forum, in that order, the surprise factor vanishes.

Monday, April 15. In a few days, Trump's trial for the Stormy Daniels Hush Money scandal gets
underway. Trump's attempts to delay or avoid this trial have so far been unsuccessful. This is a
criminal trial. And thus potentially could sent Trump to prison. Popcorn time! The right winger
MAGAverse will no doubt be very vocal about this. It should be very entertaining.

This case is pretty slam dunk. Should be an easy guilty verdict on some of the charges. Michael Cohen already went to prison for the same events.

Based on what I've read, it is called the "hush money" trial, but it's really about campaign finance violations. Then again, it is criminal, so...

It'll be interesting to watch what last minute desperate attempts will be made to delay it at the 11th hour. Will Trump fire his legal team and demand he be given time to hire a whole new one? Will he or someone critical to his defense suddenly "fall ill" at the last moment? Will the Supreme Court step in and say it falls under the question of Presidential immunity (even though it mostly happened before he was President)?

For some reason, even though it is Friday night, it still remains to be seen what rotten rabbit his dime-store attorneys will pull out of their hat.

I’m sure more delay tricks are yet to come. But if/when Cheato realizes it’s going to happen before the election, he might try to get it over with, and use his conviction to foment rebellion.

Over the weekend, Fat Bastard predicted that today, "ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE!" My prediction: it will be the same small crowd of Trumpies who stood out on the street when he had his mug shot taken. And just imagine: a former President who clearly wishes that street violence would happen. Tucker Carlson was so right: Trump is a demonic force, a destroyer.

I wish people (incl CNN) would stop calling it "the hush money trial".
How about telling it like it is?
"The election interference trial".
