Trump’s economic plans overall are insane. Removing millions of individuals from the labor force at a time of full employment will likely devastate our economy. Businesses will fail and likely inflation would result due to significant shortages. The tariffs would also destroy the economy leading to a collapse of supply chains around the world and a decimation of US manufacturing jobs which depend on global supply chains. He’s utterly clueless. But then again so are most people in the country.

MAGA doesn't care about policy. This won't matter one bit in terms of his support.

I think this is one reason why people like Elon are putting their full support behind Trump. They realize they'll be just fine with Kamala wins. But if Trump wins their loyalty will be well rewarded and they will be able to buy protection and favor from the Trump administrations draconian policies.

Calling his ramblings a plan is being generous. Most of his supporters only are able to support him because of liberal legislation in the past. They have the bennies but they never think about where they came from.

Indeed. Policy doesn't matter, just the dog whistles. George Wallace is wondering whether he was simply ahead of his time. When Trump was asked about the higher deficits in his plan at the Economic forum held by people who have a clue about economic, Trump's response was it was okay because it would result in "growth". He didn't question the analysis. He accepted it and said it'd be fine because growth.

Some conservatives here (are they really conservatives at this point?) seem to have a hard time understanding why liberals' are having their brains liquefy and flowing out of their ears when they see significant support by the the GOP base for the guy who is promising higher deficits, supporting Russian aggression, and who had fucked a porn star while his wife (third) was pregnant.

I don't think they are thinking as much about Trump as they are in a post Trump 2nd Term America. They want to get in... and get in early. Like how Russia is divided up post the fall of Communism.
