And even if Trump were to somehow convince half the country he must be dictator forever, just how long does a 78 year old last anyway? He is already down the same path as senile Biden just not quite there yet and could easily die of old age even before his 4 years are up.

There are real issues with Trump no argument (notably his advanced age), but worrying about him being a dictator sure does not seem like anything but a conspiracy theory to me. There are way too many safeguards in place for that to ever happen.

-Deny California FEMA money for the wildfires because they are a blue state. There FEMA director did not comply.

-Demanded his attorney General to open a fake election interference investigation and make a public announcement. Barr said no, F U, I quit. Tried to fire his acting attorney General when he refused to do the same thing.

-Demanded Ukraine open a fake corruption and bribery investigation on Joe and Hunter Biden or have aid and political support withdrawn. Zylensky and his team told him to fuck off.

-Demanded his vice president illegally certify fake electors to install Trump as president to steal an election and deny the will of the voters. Mike told him to fuck off.

-For the first time in American history, a peaceful transfer of power didn't take place due to Trump's election lies and sending a mob to march to the capital.

Among many other grossly illegal and unethical things that he ordered in his first term.

You think Matt Gatez is going to say no to Trump's illegal demands that violate the constitution, or will he be on his knees sucking Trump the whole time? You think the circus of sycophants and loyalists will put ethics, integrity and the constitution above Trump's demands? JD Vance was chosen in part because he said he would put Trump's illegal requests above the constitution. If you believe any of them will stand in his way this time around, you are truly delusional.

And don't say Trump won't run for a third term. The constitution says an insurrectionist can't run for office and look what good that did in stopping him. Whether the constitution will be enforced is a complete wild card at this point. Trump has already said the fake election fraud allows him to terminate the constitution. Part of the transfer of power is the certification of the electoral votes on Jan 6th, a process which was delayed due to violence. Therefore not a peaceful transfer of power.

Here is where he wanted to shoot the protestors:

I did not write the Constitution but it makes perfect sense to me why they deliberately chose an inauguration date several weeks AFTER the election to make sure the results of the election was valid. To make sure all parties agreed to the results. This certainly wasn't the first election to be contested nor will it be the last. Yes, we would rather not to have a riot at the Capital grounds but that event was a part (whether we like it or not) of the process of working out the election that was claimed to be stolen. There was never any proof except looking at the data which gave suspicion the election was stolen.


If there had been an actual coup or if Biden had not been inaugurated on time, I would agree with you that the violence delayed or prevented the peaceful transfer of power. But that is not what happened.

The 2020 election WAS NOT CONTESTED by Trump! The 2000 election had court cases left and right. W went to court, Gore went to court. It went to SCOTUS twice!

Trump didn't take the 2020 election to court. He never made an actual claim of voter fraud in court. He never formally contested the results. Instead he tried to get State Legislatures to overthrow the results. Tried to get the SoS in Georgia to "find votes" to turn the results in Georgia in his favor. To get fake electors to send their slate of votes to DC. To get a mob to scare the GOP in to subservience.

the transfer of power is a process that begins with the election and ends with the inauguration. It’s not just the inauguration. Transfer doesn’t happen in a single morning.

They deliberately chose an inauguration date several months after the election (the inauguration was originally in March) because it took a long time to transport people and mail and anything else over continental distances in the late 1700s...

Yeah, it's time to get out of dodge. But there's no place to go. I see one option that we could do and would probably be ok for a while, but it means contending with a non-English medical system (scary when you are a medical mystery!) and she would never work again (which would do quite a number on her--she's one of these people who should never retire.)

Of course it isn't proven. Her role in the Trump Admin could just be the Democrat version of Stefanik, a moderate who swung hard because she saw a shortcut to greater power.

Gabbard being in Hawaii was never going to get anywhere in politics as a Republican. So she pragmatically joined the Democrats. Whether she was always a conservative who was trying shift influence or a solitaire loving comrade who was trying to infiltrate the Democrats is unknown. She got a very fast boost up the party lines, but wasn't happy with something.

My greater issue with Gabbard is she is woefully under practiced to be the person overseeing all of America's intelligence groups. Which to me means that won't be her job. She isn't going to oversee the Intelligence system and provide generalized intel to Trump, she is there to insulate Trump from it. Like the Neocons, but much much worse.
