Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Trump claims DC restaurants are now full again. Of course it's a lie.

Bookings are down over 30 percent and restaurateurs are complaining they are losing money.

Haven't seen any data on it but I would not go to DC with the National Guard there. I'm sorry for the people in DC but I'm not willing to deal with that. And it is Trump's fault

Has anyone mentioned that Trump said that Putin told him you can't have fair elections if people are permitted to vote by mail? OMG! Has there ever been a fair election in Russian since Putin took over? I don't think so. Does Trump actually believe that people will be impressed by this idiotic thing he said today. His fucking brain disorders are getting worse each day.

There is so much more going on but I don't have the energy right now to link a few of the articles I've read today.

WASHINGTON, Aug 15 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agrees with him that letting voters send in ballots by mail puts honest elections at risk.
"Vladimir Putin, smart guy, said you can't have an honest election with mail-in voting," Trump told Fox News Channel's "Hannity" after a nearly three-hour meeting between the leaders in Alaska. "He said there's not a country in the world that uses it now."

The meeting between two of the most powerful leaders on the planet -- one playing 3D chess, the other strutting around the board knocking over pieces -- has become one of history's most pathetic "summits." Trump went into the meeting insisting on a ceasefire, and left insisting that ceasefire was pointless. More than once Trump insisted he was meeting Putin in Russia, unaware that Alaska was the 49th state.

But what was the meeting really like? One tidbit reported by Michael Wolff may sum it up: One top US adviser's reaction was "We are f**ked."

Wolff, perhaps the top chronicler of this psychopathic Presidency, goes into some detail about the meeting in the following video, beginning where I've set the time-stamp.

Yeah, anyone with half of a working brain knows that there are many countries that allow mail in voting. But, we have a lot of ignorant people in the US who believe the BS that comes out of the pathological liar, psychopaths mouth.

Trump comes from a business marketing background and it has always been my observation that sales people generally seem like they talk way too much and listen too little. But the strategy must work out in practice for them or they would not get their sales from doing this. I'm not convinced that alpha over talking helped during the Trump/Biden POTUS debates though. I can remember when Biden was stumbling badly and then Trump stupidly interrupted Biden and helped him out of the spot he was in!

On the subject of peace with Putin, it seems like Putin is locked into his religious historical mindset that Ukraine must be part of Russia and Donald just wants to make the sale of peace by running his mouth all the time.

The real people to feel sorry for are the interpreters.

The real people to feel sorry for are the Ukrainians. In his misbegotten quest for a Nobel Peace prize, President Trump is displaying his spinelessness to the max.

This caught my eye. I've thought of Putin has a hard-boiled ex-KGB operative, who has become dictator of a major country, leader of a major crime family, and one of the most powerful persons on the planet. (When one considers the wealth he controls, he probably ranks among the centibillionaires.)

There are several reasons why the war in Ukraine may serve his interests, but a religious mindset? Do other pundits share that perspective?

Sometimes it is best to ignore the talking and look at what has been done.

Trump has retracted US military support (intelligence and weapons) from Ukraine. He and Vance belittled Zelensky at the White House. Trump has done nothing against Russia (AKA the invader). Trump, in fact, creates these pauses to help provide cover for Russia. And in Trump's latest action, he conceded to a Peace Deal immediately, in lieu of a ceasefire to create a deal.

Trump's policy actions have been beneficial to only Putin/Russia.

It is NOT a "conspiracy theory" to imagine that Putin has Kompromat (Компромат) on Trump. Just the opposite: Getting Kompromat on Trump would have had the highest priority for Putin and his FSB. And Trump being who he is would have made the acquisition of Компромат easy.

One is reminded of a legend about the KGB's attempt to get compromising material against Indonesian President Sukarno:
With an international reputation as a ladies' man, the president [Sukarno] seemed like an obvious target for a sex trap during a visit to Moscow. A number of beautiful women were introduced to him and they usually ended up in his bedroom where the hidden cameras filmed the proceedings. Towards the end of his visit the president was escorted to KGB headquarters where the films were played back to him as the prelude to blackmail. Dr. Sukarno beamed as the movies unrolled. When the show was over and the lights came up, he asked astounded KGB officials if it would be possible to have copies of the film made to take home with him for public showing. He is reported to have said: "My people are going to be so proud of me!"

Similarly Trump wouldn't be worried about films showing him cavorting with a 16 year-old Moscow starlet. That's why Putin picked the most alluring hookers Moscow had to offer and sent them in with orders to coax Trump into a "golden shower", or something that might make Trump appear non-virile even to MAGA fanatics.

Putin has no incentive to deploy the Kompromat. Just the opposite: Trump's sycophancy toward Putin is so blatant that the existence of Kompromat is obvious: Putin wishes Trump would cool it down.

What works for the salesman doesn't always work for the company or the customer. I've written far too much code intended to stop salesman misbehavior that I certainly won't trust them about the big picture.
