NFL 2025

SF should have played Mac Jones, because it looks like they rushed Purdy back, he's hurt again. And MJ hadn't lost.

Won't matter who they put in this week though. 🐐

2020 NFC East came within 7 points of doing it for the entire season.
Impressive! The AFC West was a hotbed of mediocrity for years and years, but even early in a season I never saw the entire division underwater in terms of points for/against. I mean, that’s HARD when they have to play each other so much.

The Ravens ā€œdefenseā€ has given up more points in five games than their 2000 defense surrendered in the entire season. And the 2000 team’s total includes a couple pick sixes given up by their offense.

Head coach actually had the arrogance to say earlier this week that they’re ā€œcloseā€ to getting it together on defense. Then they go out and let Houston, whose offense has been sputtering, score on every drive but one. Inexplicably, no one has lost his job.

So the Bronco's attempt to lose another game in the last minute failed, and they beat the Eagles at the Linc.
They look pretty good. If they win the injury lottery over the course of the season, they might have a chance.

Well, I can cancel the Super Bowl hotel room reservations and better yet I can stop selling my organs on the black market to afford tickets. It was only one game, but the biggest issue that is beyond resolving that I saw was Drake Maye still has issues with passing accuracy which did not become improved over the off-season. The Patriots came out slow, but mid-1st quarter and 2nd quarter, the offense and defense looked decent, even if Maye's passing was hit or miss. But the first drive by the Raiders in the second half looked like the first one in the first half... and this time in the second half, the Patriots weren't able to respond. Defensively or offensively. It is early and I usually don't give up too quickly on a QB, but I saw last year's Maye on Sunday, not a new this year's version.
And now by Week 5 we see that Drake Maye is still having accuracy issues at times, throwing behind receivers, but he has up'd his quality passes as well.

The Patriots were trashed by the Raiders in Week One, and otherwise, should be 4-1 so far, instead being 3-2 after the Steelers forced 5 TOs. Couldn't really have expected anything remotely this good after Week One. They hadn't played anyone that good, and won, but last night, thanks to the Bills committing a lot of penalties, the Patriots offense and defense pulled out a really good win. The offense was led with Maye connecting with Diggs. Defenses will get wise to this, and time will tell how the Patriots adapt to the defensive adaptation.

The other molehill thing to take from this game is that of Division Record, something Belichick cared about more than anything... well that and helping his girlfriend pass her driving test. The Pats are the only undefeated team in the division. Yes, it would seem unlikely that the Pats and Bills would share the same record after 17 games, as I think the Bills are still the top team, but you never know.
The Browns can also look to this being another rebuilding season. While many will look at the outcome of a game where the Browns outgained the Bengals 327-141 as something to build off of... the only thing I think is being built is a gangplank. When you outgain a team by nearly 250% and you still lose... that means your team is gifted in losing... not winning.
This hasn't changed. Gabriel didn't have a bad first start as he replaced Methuselah as the starting QB. The Browns wouldn't give up a single turnover either. And they even had the lead in the third quarter 17-14. Gained about as many yards as the Vikings, but were 3-15 on 3rd down. Penalties didn't help either. Browns are now 1-4 and are tied for the lowest amount of points scored.

And Mayfield threw for almost 400 yards in a winning effort against the Seahawks and Tampa improves to 4-1.

Eagles get blown out by a rookie QB starting his third game, throwing to mostly practice squad WRs. Eagles don’t have much besides their illegal execution of the tush push. Their fans must be close to meltdown. Fun to watch.

It should end up being the same in Pittsburgh this weekend. The Browns will likely pull out a win they have no business taking.

Patriots take on the Saints this weekend in a crucial away game to see whether the Pats are actually a winning record team or just a close to 50-50 teams.

Good news is the seasons are so long now, there is time to turn it around. And they should get a good chance today since Rams make every game close. They forgot how to kick field goals all of a sudden and they will gift you a turnover at opportune times.

Also, there is no obvious championship level team right now. Everyone has weaknesses and blemishes. Even before the 4-0 teams lost, that was clear. Most teams should feel like they have a shot.

Pats have a strong first half, gritty second half. Maye threw a few long passes. NFL+ having time travel issues with.

Insane last five minutes! Broncos down 26-8 with 5:15 remaining… three lead changes in the last couple of minutes, Broncos win 33-32, now lead the AFC West. 😳

:ROFLMAO: lol Giants give up 33 points in the final quarter to lose. Oh well!
Don't be going to sleep on Bo Nix - dude has instincts, and luck!
I heard the horrible announcer claim this was 1608 consecutive wins by teams winning by 18 with <6:00 remaining, coming to an end.
Can't verify that of course...

They must have taken lessons from our Broncos.

And that was a championship! This was just game seven of a seventeen game regular season.
It's great to see a little magic back in Denver.

And that was a championship!
'Twas a mere qualifying final; The Broncos did go on to win the Grand Final, after a similar (though not quite as incredible) last-gasp come-from-behind effort. We beat the minor premiers, then last year's champions (who were hot favourites), and finally the team we always lose to. All were close wins, from being behind at half time.

An all time record at that!
Most points EVER scored in the fourth quarter by any team after being shut out for three quarters. Giants might not recover this season.

Patriots take care of a weak Titans team to improve to 5-2. Patriots schedule this season might be good for this team, a good way to get high quality practice scrimmages down for next season when they do this for real.

Hapless Browns beat hapless Dolphins.
