Who did it better?

What a song. There is Always Something There To Remind Me

Dionne Warwick

Lou Johnson

Sandie Shaw (Happy Birthday, Feb 26)

Naked Eyes, an eighties classic.

I can't pick a winner out this lot, they are all brilliant and unique.

Taylor Swift is no doubt better looking. But beyond that...

Dancing In The Street

Martha (Reeves) and the Vandellas

Bowie and Jagger

The Bowie/Jagger effort is sometimes a good toe tapper but then Jagger's over the top solo vocals ruins it for me.

What?! No Van Halen? VH FTW! But, yeah, never liked the Bowie/Jagger duet. So, Martha and the Vandellas (if you don't count VH).

Good god I never liked any version of that song, not one.

Let's Dance

Bowie

Queen Anne

Bowie wins of course but the Queen Anne version is brilliant. It incorporates a few different musical styles brilliantly. Very impressed with this version. Non Bowie fans may actually prefer the Queen Anne version. So good.

Probably well known but just in case someone doesn't know, the guitar solos from "Let's Dance" were done by Stevie Ray Vaughn.

In the end these are two completely different songs.

Poison Ivy. Not a great song but did well back in the day

The Coasters

The Lambrettas

The Lambrettas version is the better of a crap song.

The Tide Is High

The Paragons

Blondie

I never knew the Blondie version was a cover.

Not a huge difference but Blondie wins. Debbie Harry.

Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)

The Buzzcocks

Fine Young Cannibals

I really like the FYC version but it doesn't come close the Buzzcocks original.
