I think about the gaps created from being out at sea for months at a time, a kind of informational coma when you learn of something that happened during one of those time periods but years later. Imagine living in a nation like this for some lengthy portion of your life and then brought out into the light. Could you even trust this new reality or would you want to sink back into what you've known? God help Russia if there is a Putin II.
