I don't grok why people are still using the Grok AI/chatbot.
Why did Musk get cheered wildly for his Nazi salute?I don't grok why people are still using the Grok AI/chatbot.
Musk has to try really hard to make computers "know" it, apparently.Gives their racism a sense of legitimacy. See, even the computers know it!
4 hours??? Did he take brevity lessons from Lumpy?Nearly four hours with Elon Musk.
That’s Alex Gibney’s proposal.
The filmmaker, once described by Esquire as “becoming the most important documentarian of our time,” has tackled Enron, Eliot Spitzer, Vladimir Putin and Elizabeth Holmes. Now, he’s turned his eyes to the richest man in the history of the world.
The 3-hour-and-45-minute “Musk” (plus a 10-minute intermission) hits theaters on Oct. 16, but it’s already causing a stir.
The documentary, which spans from his early Silicon Valley days through his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) dalliances and Twitter acquisition to his ascent to becoming the world’s first trillionaire, paints Musk as an emotionally unstable grifter with more power and influence than perhaps any other human who has ever lived.
Gibney pulls no punches, neither in the documentary nor in interviews about it, in which he’s called Musk’s power and influence “extremely dangerous to world democracy.”
“What I discovered was that the story of Musk was not a new tech story,” Gibney told reporters in a news conference at the Venice Film Fest earlier this month, adding that it’s “really the story of an old wine in a new bottle. His story turns out to be the story of the confidence man, the stock pumper. His wealth and power comes from inflated stock, and so I had told that story before with Enron and with Elizabeth Holmes, and so it was a story that was oddly familiar to me.”
( Liar )The world’s richest person has quietly become by far the biggest known midterm donor, trying to save Republicans’ Senate majority with some of the largest donations in American political history.
Elon Musk has quietly funneled more than $276 million into Republican groups and his super PAC since the start of July, building a huge turnout operation to help the party battle headwinds in the midterm elections.
The staggering amount of money makes Mr. Musk, the richest person in the world, by far the largest known donor in the midterms. Representatives for Mr. Musk supplied the previously unreported figures on his political giving to The New York Times before a federal filing deadline on Thursday.
In an effort to save Republicans’ Senate majority, he gave a total of $158 million this summer to the Senate Leadership Fund, the main super PAC backing the party’s candidates for the chamber, according to his team. In sum, that is one of the largest political donations in American history, and more than the group’s Democratic rival raised from all of its donors that quarter.
The donations also clear up the mystery of how much staying power Mr. Musk wants to have in American politics.
“In terms of political spending, I’m going to do a lot less in the future,” he said in May 2025.
Mr. Musk, who oversees a vast business empire that has benefited from enormous federal contracts, is famously unpredictable and often jumps from one project to another. He has been far quieter about his political work since his dramatic blowup with Mr. Trumplast year. After months of wielding vast influence inside the White House and overseeing Mr. Trump’s government cost-cutting project, he raged against the president’s major domestic policy billand floated threats to start a third party.

One of Musk’s posts Sunday, a repost to his more than 240 million followers, put the onus on Talarico to clear the record: “If this was not true, Talarico’s campaign would immediately authorize the release of the records to clear him.”
While Sortor’s audio clip led discussion to peak between 1 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Musk weighed in as the matter was driving a significant level of conversation in right-wing circles — and it continued to hold traction for about eight hours afterward.
Jared Holt, a senior researcher at Open Measures, a platform that measures the spread of online extremism and disinformation, said Musk’s elevation helped claims like Sortor’s proliferate.
“His engagement with posts promoting the claims did boost them to wider audiences than they may have reached otherwise and likely served to legitimize them in the eyes of ideologically aligned users,” Holt said in an email.
Intermittent trillionaire Elon Musk settled a class action lawsuit Thursday over allegations that his political action committee engaged in fraud in the 2024 presidential election by falsely telling voters they had a chance to randomly win $1 million when the winners were actually predetermined.
Pay? This should disqualify someone from running a PAC.-article said:Details of the settlement, including how much Musk will ultimately have to pay, were not immediately disclosed.

The Office of Personnel Management violated federal law by granting the now-defunct Department of Government Efficiency access to data, but it’s unclear whether any relief is needed because of changed circumstances, a federal judge held.
There was no meaningful dispute that OPM violated the Privacy Act by allowing its DOGE agents access to sensitive personal information, Judge Denise Cote said in her ruling Tuesday. Cote had blocked the now-defunct agency’s access in a June 2025 order.
“The defendants barely defend its legality, relying instead on what has happened since to argue that the case is moot and that prospective relief is unnecessary,” said Cote, a Clinton appointee to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
The ruling highlights how DOGE, a novel agency that President Donald Trump unleashed on the federal government, operated unlawfully soon after its inception.
