It is interesting how those who are chummy with Putin have issues with vote outcomes when they lose.
article said:
The scale of Bolsonaro's loss, with the senator trailing Lula by over 4 million votes, makes it unlikely his efforts to annul the vote will succeed, analysts said.

His petition is also undermined by the fact that his campaign also sought a voting extension due to heavy rains in the conservative-leaning south.

Still, Bolsonaro's refusal to concede could spark a wave of protests in a country where faith in the electoral system, and in judicial independence, has been strained in recent years, observers say.

What a greaseball Trumpista. This is what the Lying Repubs have bequeathed to the planet: bitch about voter fraud and refuse to accept any other outcome than victory, no matter that it means taking a huge dump on the will of the people. Suitable tactic for all dictators and congenital toddlers like our own Donald.

GREASEBALL?!
20 lashes for racist tropery!
When I was a 13 yr old aspiring surf bum, we referred to ALL Latinos as greasers.
It took me years to learn about Nick Gabaldon, who was venerated by Those Who Knew, before I ever got my feet wet in the Pacific. Slowly, my racism was dispelled and somewhat reversed into idolatry once I saw what some of the Mokes (Hawaiians) were doing to waves.
No haolis were playing like that!
To this day, my most vivid memories of watching others surf, are of Hawaiians - mostly known only locally in Hanalei - making a mockery of 3-5x overhead waves.

This was a truly an election between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. Lula is certainly no better than the Bolsonaros, just with a different set of unsavory allies (such as Iran and Maduro's Venezuela). In addition, Lula only has elementary school education. Brasil has >200M people, and yet this is the best they can do?

Sorry, still not seeing how any mere claim of "certainly no better" holds up the whole "losing by 4m votes" gap.

Give it a rest. No one is perfect. Despite his many faults, Lula is magnitudes better than any Bolsonaro.

Give it a rest. No one is perfect.
Calling somebody with 4th grade education and who cozies up to anti-US dictators like the Ayatollahs "not perfect" is very generous to the point of suspicion that you do not know what "not perfect" even means. Which would not be that surprising, given that you also struggle with the adjective "many".

Nah. They are comparable in their badness. The only saving grace for Lula's 4th term is that he will have a counterbalance in the opposition-dominated parliament.

“Many” is a qualitative adjective whose magnitude depends on the user. Which makes it rather a pointless adjective without more information.

The level of formal education should not be conflated with intelligence or compassion. One of the best US presidents (Lincoln) had little formal education (he was mocked about that).

More importantly, many more if those who know more about Lula (4 million more) think your view is ignorant.

We are not talking about a lack of an advanced degree. We are talking about somebody who didn't even attend middle school.

That was also in the 19th century, so hardly comparable.

The fact that he is cozying up to anti-American dictators, including the regime in Tehran, is a fact that does not depend on how many people voted for him. If the Bolsonaros are rightly criticized for supporting Russia, then Lula's international entanglements should likewise be scrutinized.
As to why so many people decided to vote for Lula in the runoff (despite him trailing in the first round), I think it has to do with all the free stuff he kept promising.
Brazil’s Lula opens state toolbox to woo voters in runoff against Bolsonaro. Here’s what is on offer
15% increase in welfare payments, debt forgiveness etc.

Neither did Lincoln.

There is absolutely no reason to expect any foreign leader to be the pro-american or the US’s stooge.

Didn't Lula and Biden get along just fine?

Probably didn't hurt. Also the Bolsonaros are a bunch of criminals didn't hurt either. The globe is reaching a turning point. Things have gone well generally with growth, but we are hitting a road bump. Lots of areas aren't taking it well. Right-wing extremism that unleashed hell on Earth in the 20th Century is rekindling. They have absolutely no solutions to the problems the left and right wings are facing, but they can make a lot of noise.

I seem to remember left-wing extremism unleashing hell on earth in the 20thC. Funny that both had a go and both failed spectacturly.
They have absolutely no solutions to the problems the left and right wings are facing, but they can make a lot of noise.
Its time to ditch both wings and aim for the 'centre'. Less noise and chaos and hopefully better results for all.

For more "both sides" false equivalences, please remember to turn into Mr. False Equivalence.

I'm talking about the actual hell on Earth in WWII where Nazis sent millions of people into gas chambers. WWII was a far right-wing verses everyone thing.

The following stuff in the Cold War was much more despotic "capitalism" v despotic "communism" setups in Africa, South America, and Asia. That was giants playing in the sandbox, not giving a fuck about who they stepped on. That was more 50/50 but not left v right.

Liberalism and conservativism need each other! Much like capitalism and socialism require each other. The problem is, in places like France, the middle is failing to make magic work, then the conservatives failed to make money just appear into existence, and now the fringes are getting more traction despite the fact that they have no remotely possible solution to the problems the people are upset over. The far right just won't die in Italy or Germany. The Russian backed wing of the right-wing broken Britain. And in the US, the conservatives apparently stopped existing and were switched out with Trump drones. The US no longer has a right-wing. There is the moderate Democrats and MAGA.
