2026 Mid-Term Elections

liar. He is not "connected" to the MB.
He is definitely connected. He was leader in MSA (MB connected) during college. He supported Morsi/MB takeover of Egypt in 2012. He took MB money during this campaign and even spoke at the MB-connected ISNA conference.

He has had Muslim Brotherhood connections his entire adult life!

Georgia will now have a black woman governor. The first in the nation.
Unfortunately, she was a horrible mayor. I did vote for her because the alternative was worse, but it's sad that the charismatic, brilliant Stacy Abrams lost when she ran and Keisha won. I guess people are fed up with billionaires, especially the ones with an R after their names. One can only hope that Keisha has gained some important knowledge since she was mayor.

El Sayed is still quite a bit ahead, but less than 20% of the votes have been counted.

And what the hell is your issue with CAIR?
They are an Islamist group connected to MB and Hamas.
The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)
And a CAIR leader celebrated 10/7 attacks.
White House Disavows U.S. Islamic Group After Leader’s Oct. 7 Remarks
NY Times said:
The White House disavowed an American-Islamic advocacy organization on Thursday after the group’s director declared that he “was happy to see” Palestinians break out of Gaza on Oct. 7, the day of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel that killed an estimated 1,200 people and led to the seizure of 240 others as hostages.
A spokesman for President Biden condemned the remarks by Nihad Awad, the national executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, who declared in a speech that Palestinians in Gaza “have the right to self-defense” but that Israel “as an occupying power” does not. Mr. Awad said his comments were being misconstrued.
“We condemn these shocking, antisemitic statements in the strongest terms,” said Mr. Biden’s spokesman, Andrew Bates. “The horrific, brutal terrorist attacks committed by Hamas on Oct. 7 were, as President Biden said, ‘abhorrent’ and represent ‘unadulterated evil.’” Mr. Bates added that the atrocities of that day “shock the conscience” and said that “every leader has a responsibility to call out antisemitism wherever it rears its ugly head.”

Muslim Brotherhood did technically win an election, they didn't "takeover". That was the military... who did it twice in a short span.

Hope it keeps going this way! ( only 8% of the vote is in but so far, so good )
Why? It certainly looks like Dems will have a comfortable majority even without him. Dems do not need him and all the problems he brings along. Make no mistake, contrary to scombrid's ignorant claim, AES is not at all secular.

And I so look forward to this being your new hobby horse for the next 6 years.

The Arabic letter AES signed urged Morsi to purge police and media of non-loyalists. And Morsi did prosecute (or should that be "persecute") people for "insult to Islam" and similar offenses. He was also friendly toward Hamas in Gaza. So, it's a good thing the military restored the status quo ante.

Mississippi might need to be put on ice. Hyde's lead is low. Should be good enough, but the winning margins in Mississippi and Florida (as well as losing KS, TX, and IA, and blown out in NC and GA) are pitiful.

Apparently Trump could have stayed home... or maybe this helped. Everyone being told things are awesome might not have been a great idea.

Hopefully Rogers can still pull through. 55 seats are enough, so there is no possible upside to Abdulrahman winning.
If he does win, I sure hope he can be ousted 6 years hence.
You have no idea what he will be like is he wins this Senate race. You're just making assumptions based on your feelings toward Muslims. He is a far better choice than his opponent, and he will be one Senator out of 100.

I am making assumptions based on groups he chose to associate with throughout his adult life, from leading MSA in college to speaking at ISNA this year and taking money from MB and other Islamists.
I am also basing it with his associations with toxic individuals like Hasan Piker.

What are you basing your support of him on?

Both would be, but AES further normalizes Islamism in the Democratic Party. As if terrorist associate Adam Hamawy in the House wasn't more than enough of a bad thing.

It is amazing that people are not more concerned about this on an atheist forum. Many of you just want to criticize Christianity, and want to leave Islam alone.
