...
On Monday, a long list of former federal prosecutors released a letter arguing that “the conduct of President Trump described in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report would, in the case of any other person not covered by the Office of Legal Counsel policy against indicting a sitting President, result in multiple felony charges for obstruction of justice.”
The number of signatories to this letter appear to be growing by the hour. As of this writing, it includes 414 former officials.

The president is a crook! Tweet storm is immanent.

That list includes thirty that worked in Bonespurs DOJ.

It's a stupid rule enacted in 2000. It has no historical significance.

What are the chances that after Trump is out of office that he will go to jail, no matter what he did?

Has it happened to any previous president? I know that Nixon was quickly pardoned.

The indictment or criminal prosecution of a sitting President would unconstitutionally undermine the capacity of the executive branch to perform its constitutionally assigned functions.

As stated in the other thread, why is a bureaucrat deciding on the constitutionality of such an important issue.

The federal statute of limitations for obstruction of justice charges is 5 years.
If Trump is re-elected, the statute of limitations will have expired and he won't go to jail for these crimes.

Nixon was pardoned by (Republican) Ford as part of Nixon's agreement to step down rather than forcing the impeachment proceedings.

If Trump is put out of office in January 2021, it will be because a Democrat was elected. No pardon for the Trumpster, in that case.

pretty close to 100%, if he does not flee the country to Scotland, like I predict will happen once his immunity expires. Nixon was guilty of federal crimes for which the pardon applied. Trump is guilty of both federal and state crimes, for which a pardon from the next president cannot be applied. At the very least, all Trump assets that exist in NY would be seized and a warrant for his arrest opened if he ever were to return to NY.
