Another terrorist emboldened by Trump.

The group said two people were hospitalized after being hit by the truck, but the video does not show those injuries.
"Two people were treated for injuries from the truck, including 64-year-old Jerry Belair, who suffered a fractured leg and internal bleeding," organizer Amy Anthony told CNN in an email.

The person driving the truck was an ICE agent.

The protest, organized by the new Jewish group Never Again Action, ended after an ICE official named Thomas Woodworth drove the pickup into a row of protesters who were blocking the entrance to the detention facility’s parking lot.

“Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility Warden Daniel Martin is also conducting a top to bottom review of the incident, Wyatt correctional officers’ response, and the Wyatt’s protocols regarding protest activities outside of the facility,” a statement from the detention center said. “The Wyatt supports the First Amendment right of citizens to peacefully protest on public property surrounding the facility, and the First Amendment right of journalists to report on the facility.

Frieden said two protesters were injured by Woodworth, including one who suffered a broken leg, internal bleeding and a possible back fracture. In addition, Frieden said three protesters sustained injuries when correctional officers subsequently used pepper spray on them.”

Fair enough. Government sponsored terrorist.

Was he on the clock at the time? If so, ICE is liable for his actions.

I've heard conflicting reports that the guy was ICE and that he was an employee at the prison. Might have to wait for a positive ID on the guy to be sure. He was apparently trying to get into the parking lot to get to work, so he wasn't on the clock at the time. The guards that used pepper spray on the crowd shortly after were likely on the clock.

The police, of course, stood around and did nothing.

It's not quite that simple - the key question is whether he was acting as an agent of the government when he did what he did. https://www.justice.gov/crt/deprivation-rights-under-color-law

In the event that he does get prosecuted, it would probably be as a private citizen, since driving to work (even when you work for ICE) isn't usually considered acting as an authority.

If you want some real perspective into the right-wing authoritarian mindset check out some of the comments on the protesters' Twitter feed - these are people who would have been cheering for the tank in '89. https://twitter.com/NeverAgainActn/status/1161848903903432704

I think the lesson here is it doesn't matter if he was on duty or not. This is what ICE exists to do, and if he was acting as a private citizen he was doing pro bono work for them.

Another terrorist emboldened by Trump.
Terrorism normally refers to attacking targets of convenience for the sake of the political effect on third parties, not to attacking the specific individuals who are personally causing you a problem. I think the term you're looking for is "road rage".

The term I'm looking for:

What were these idiots doing in the roadway to begin with? You stand in the middle of the road, especially at night, some truck might accidentally hit you.
1. They were not in the road, they were on the sidewalk, and also blocking the entrance to the parking lot.
2. They were under the lights, and the guy had his headlights on, so no problem of visibility
3. He came right up to them and stopped, and once they got up THEN he rammed through them, there was no 'accident' about it

I looked up that group. They are an extremist group who wants to "shut down" ICE facilities.
I have a feeling that any group that doesn't agree with you politically is an 'extremist' group according to you. Do you have any indication that the shooter in that article was in any way associated with this group, or that the group in any way condoned an attack? Of course you don't, you never do, but that never stops you from repeating the assertion.

What was the approximate velocity that he was going as he went through the chimping out crowd That was banging on his car?

Fuck you, Jerry Belair.

Well when they were sitting on the ground he looked to be going about 20 mph before he hit the brakes. After he threatened them with a deadly weapon and they stood up, he was going pretty slow when he ran into them.

Perhaps they should have shot him in the face instead, mayhap they'd get more sympathy, you know with the whole deadly weapon thing and all...

Ah, blaming the victims.

FBI: Shooting of ICE offices could have resulted in ‘assassination of a federal employee’
Totally irrelevant to the actions of the driver so it cannot justify the actions of the driver.
