ICE agent Christian Castro has been charged with 4 counts of assault and making a false reports in the attack and shooting of a legal immigrant.
Moriarty said Castro fired his weapon through the front door of a house that Sosa-Celis and others, including children, were in. The bullet traveled through the door and struck Sosa-Celis’s leg before getting lodged in the wall of a child’s bedroom, Moriarty told reporters at the news conference announcing the charges. Sosa-Celis' injury was considered non-life-threatening.

Moriarty added that, contrary to the Department of Homeland Security’s press release a day after the shooting on Jan. 15, Castro was not hit with any shovels, brooms, or weapons of any kind at any time, as the federal agency described. Investigators said ICE agents surrounded the home after the shooting, deployed tear gas and later entered the residence, taking four adults into custody. ICE Agent Charged

This stormtrooper and his partner lied about the entire incident. The physical evidence rebuts their lie about firing in defense (the bullets went through a door to hit Castro). Unfortunately for these two thugs, there is also video evidence proving they were not under attack.

Another ICE agent charged
ICE agent accused of pointing gun on highway makes first court appearance
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent accused of pulling a gun on two motorists in the height of Operation Metro Surge has made his first court appearance.
He’s currently facing two criminal counts in connection to the incident, which took place in February on Highway 62.

Morgan was driving an unmarked Ford Expedition when he allegedly pulled up alongside another vehicle, rolled down the window, and pointed a black handgun at the driver and passenger of the other car, which was reportedly attempting to block the SUV from bypassing traffic on the right shoulder.

“(Friday’s) first appearance is a critical step in our effort to seek accountability, and we are prepared for the different paths this case may take,” said Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty in a statement following the court hearing. “Mr. Morgan is entitled to a fair trial, so additional comment from this office will be limited in accordance with the integrity, professionalism, and ethics we demand of our prosecutors.”

Two down, many more to go!!!

Mary Moriarty. Typical. Aggressive in prosecuting law enforcement, but outright refuses to do her job otherwise.

Minn. county attorney announces office will no longer prosecute felony cases arising from ‘low-level’ stops

Police 1 said:
Hennepin County law enforcement leaders on Friday condemned the County Attorney’s Office announcement that it will no longer prosecute most felony cases arising from low-level traffic stops.
County Attorney Mary Moriarty, who revealed the new policy Wednesday, said it will help reduce disproportionate targeting of minorities in stops for minor offenses such as broken taillights or improper turns. The policy takes effect Oct. 15.
Sheriff Dawanna Witt and police chiefs who spoke were critical of not being notified ahead of the announcement. They said the change will “embolden criminals” because charges will not be filed if serious gun or drug possession crimes are discovered during a low-level stop.

She also hired a child murderer for her campaign when she first ran for DA.

Thanks for trying to derail this thread with your off topic animus with old news.

The two ICE agents who are charged put innocent civilians in danger and all you can do is carp about the DA with a stupid “whataboutism”.

First day here?

But with regards to the topic, anyone who is in law enforcement who is convicted of making a false report should get minimum 10 years. The integrity of LEOs in the US is in the gutter for this very issue. The most obvious example was Derek Chauvin's statement versus what everybody saw on video.

Update
The MN Bureau of Criminal Investigation tracked Agent Carroll to Harlingen TC where the Texas Rangers arrested him on his warrants. Extradition awaits.

Errata for above
It is the Mn Bureau of Criminal Investigation should read Mn Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Not a derail. I am just offering some background on the far-left DA who is pushing this prosecution.

They may or may not be guilty, but Mary Moriarty being the one charging them does not make me very confident of legitimacy of the charges.

Do you think a DA should not charge law enforcement officers shooting through doors at unarmed suspects, lying about it and filing false charges? If not, then the DA’s politics is irrelevant.

There is video of their crime and their boss admitted they lied. And all you want to bring up is the departing DA’s politics.

Is this why Derec doesn't like Moriarty?

Moriarty and her team exposed inequities in the criminal legal system within Hennepin County. In 2018, they showed that low-level marijuana stings in Hennepin County overwhelmingly targeted Black people. Moriarty's office forced Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman and the Minneapolis Police Department to stop the stings, which many viewed as racially biased In 2020, Moriarty's office conducted a study that revealed Black people were overwhelmingly more likely to be stopped by police for traffic violations—even though White drivers were more likely to have contraband.
I can't imagine the reason.
