It is almost certain that the criminal Trump will become the 47th POTUS. What will this mean?
US will withdraw military aid from Ukraine, and encourage Russia to ramp up its invasion.
With the coming collapse of the US economy, China becomes the sole superpower.
Israel receives increased military aid, and Trump doesn't care how many more Palestinians are exterminated.
Is there any hope? A thin one, that the US military recalls their oath about domestic enemies. Will this happen? No, the US military lacks courage and commitment.
When Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, the German military gave him their support, and we know what that led to - about 100 million dead.

Trump will contact Putin for further instructions. Vance will use Trump, and then discard him, so as to become POTUS.
EDIT: It seems Trump will also control the new Senate, and already has the Supreme Court in his pocket, and will be able to appoint new members to it unopposed.
 
In Russia the mood is indifference with slight bias towards .... Kamalla.
Trump is too much uncertainty and bad publicity. His first term was blamed on Russia (without any evidence)
The second term can only be worse in that sense. Democrat establishment will triple down on their "Russia did it" campaign.
On the other hand, with Kamalla we have indication that she is not interested in war on Russia.
With Trump, the only hope is that Vance will be able to take over and calm down democrat wing of the Deep State.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people which wish for US to crash and burn. But this is merely a rhetorics and reaction to your aggression. And Putin is certainly not one of these people. He wants normal relations.

You do know that it was Trump who actually started sending weapons to Ukraine? Yes, It was not Obama, it was Trump.
Of course we know that it was a simple business transaction for Trump but facts are facts.

As I said. There are indications that Kamalla will settle down this conflict. She is not so attached to Biden administration as you think. I mean, belief is that it can't go worse than with Biden. Biden made a bet on winning in Russia and it's clear that he lost, Even Kamalla understands that, so there is no point for her to sign up on this losing bet.
With Trump, we don't know what's going to happen.

At this point, I'd almost be willing to accept Chinese global hegemony. At least they're somewhat process oriented, and know how to invest in society now to reap dividends in the future.

I never have had much faith in the American electorate. They have shown over and over that they are Mean spirited and reactionary. I wish they would prove me unduly harsh.

No, I'm saying YOU did YOUR best to make this happen. Not looking at what anyone else did, not at the whole population. Just you. Just what you have said and done and endorsed, the tiny bit of leverage you had to waggle your proverbial tongue into the ear, what effect do you think it might have made?

What effect did you want it to make?

What effect can you reasonably surmise it had?

Not Russia.

And then, look at all the effects of all the actions of the most powerful people in Russia had, and ask those same questions of them.

From where I sit, I see Moscow celebrating. Maybe the Russian people object to it as you say, but this doesn't change the fact that the people who matter in Russia don't... And you seem pretty intent on supporting it, while maintaining a path to walk it back if you need to.

Looked at with an ice-cold eye, it's uncomfortable to note how often our national heroes were, and had to be, men who blatantly ignored the common sentiment and pursued their own will over and above democratic principles. But, what's needed in extremis does not lend itself to a functional and sustaining government in the day to day.

Eh, what else do I have to do really? I'm an openly gay public educator. If these Project 2025 people have their way, it'll be a choice of resistance or prison for me within a few years. But I think we can delay their plans far beyond that schedule. Actually, I think their own mean-spirited incompetence will delay their plans far beyond that schedule. It took these knuckleheads 50 years to take down Roe.

But I wish more of the common public weren't marching spiritedly back to the tycoon era. Even if they don't succeed, I think the struggle is going to destabilize this country's government beyond easy repair, and allow international actors to replace our role on the public stage, to their benefit but our considerable detriment.
