I thought of a basic analogy which is admittedly very simplified to get across global warming to the kinds of people who are likely to be led astray by these deniers liars. I know this analogy can be improved to be more relatable.

Your house is the earth. Right now it is winter outside and you have your furnace going at a set heat production rate - not based on the thermostat. The house has medium insulation and are NOT ALLOWED to open windows. the medium insulation is replaced with heavy duty. Oh and you can't change the furnace heat production. Ask your skeptic what will happen.

That is more accurate. The sun is the furnace, outer space is "outside" and CO2 and methane are the insulation. CO2 both the insulation and kind of the thermostat, since the sun's heat production is astonishingly consistent - within 0.1 percent.

If you want, tell your audience that instead of a house it is a gym with a large pool (not separately heated) and remind them how long it takes water to heat up.

Anti-science arguments on the topic of climate change are almost always based on cherry-picking the data. Antarctica was a very popular cherry-pick up until recently. They'll have to switch to cherry-picking something else.

11. I belong to the Greed Over Planet party and I don't care as long as I get my corporate welfare tax breaks.
