AOC vs. Joe Biden's migrant detention camps

That boogieman isn't threatening at all. Non-citizens can't vote in federal elections and as far as State elections there are only two that I know of that allows non-citizens to vote in local elections such as Sheriff's & school board members. You two would abandon your cars over a fly on the windshield.

Call me a raging conservative if you must.

But I want to go back to the good old days, when the USA was "The Nation of Immigrants". That's what "Made America Great" in the first place. You can read about it by visiting the Statue of Liberty!

Trump, and his isolationist progressive policies, were way too new fangled to suit me. We don't need walls or detention facilities, we need green cards and vetting.

Do you have any data to support your claim. According to this site ( https://immigrationforum.org/article/fact-sheet-unaccompanied-migrant-children-uacs/ )
According to records from ORR facilities in FY 2019, approximately 30% of UACs arriving at the border are girls and 70% are boys. UACs predominantly arrive between the ages of 13 and 17 (86%), although the population also includes “tender age” children between 6 and 12 (14%).
(Notes - UAC is unaccompanied alien child, ORR is Office of Refugee Resettlement)

Also, the notion that these children are acting independently is not supported by that same site:
Most UACs do not arrive at the border because they are runaways or because their parents have abandoned them. Instead, most often, parents have made the desperate determination that it is safer for their children to attempt to flee alone to the border than to remain at risk of persecution or violence. In some cases, these children have been entrusted to smugglers to take them to the U.S.; in others, parents may be waiting in Mexico and have sent their children across the border alone.

You realize your stats basically support what I said? Note that there's no breakdown of the 13-17 group, there's no reason to conclude the distribution is even especially as your own data shows age matters or you would have more in the 6-12 group than the 13-17.

AOC has had a history of opposing such camps.
AOC also has history of opposing any enforcement against illegals.
In fact, she thinks hispanic illegals should not even be considered illegal.

DHS shouldn’t exist, agencies should be reorganized, ICE gotta go, ban for-profit detention, create climate refugee status & more.

In other words, more third world mass migration and no enforcement against illegal migration. Open borders wet dream.

You need to translate better.

ICE is currently highly abusive, burn it to the ground and replace is not an unreasonable approach. ICE is the small-town cop that parks a big truck in front of the 25 mph sign and then tickets at 26 mph while ignoring the woman screaming for help.

Note that she didn't say ban all detention, she said to ban for-profit detention. The handling of prisoners is bad enough, for-profit just makes it even worse.

I read the entire article and it appears to me as if AOC is over reacting.
As is her wont.
Remember too that AOC is an anti-ICE, pro-open borders zealot. Any immigration enforcement is detestable to her and her squad mates.

Since you took that line out of the context of my post, I was only referring to her objection to the temporary housing provided by our government. To me, it appeared to be a decent, clean, place, that would provide the needs of the teenagers who have come here independently of their parents.

But how accurate is your impression of the housing? Potemkin housing was exposed in the His Flatulence era.

One can agree with a person on some issues and be critical of that same person on other issues. I just wish AOC would stop tweeting. Actually, I hate twitter and wish all politicians would stop using it, but I'm obviously not going to get my wish. Twitter has caused a lot of problems, misunderstandings, as well as being an outlet for hatred.

While I don't like Twitter I like politicians using it--it gives us a much clearer view of what they are thinking than professionally written speeches do.
