So ... The ICC isn't happy about Uncle Vlad's genocide campaign against the citizens of Ukraine.
But it's not all gloom and doom; poor Uncle Vlad's rich Uncle Xi is coming to visit, and he is a big fan of genocide.
So maybe it will all work out.

The International Criminal Court said Friday it has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin for war crimes because of his alleged involvement in abductions of children from Ukraine.

The court said in a statement that Putin "is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation."

It also issued a warrant Friday for the arrest of Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, on similar allegations.

I'm glad the ICC got this in before Vlad and Xi's meeting next week. Not a good look for Xi, going to meet a head of state with an arrest warrant out on him for war crimes. You wanna be respected as a part of the rules based international order, you gotta earn it Xi. And here you are meeting up with a man who has abducted tens of thousands of Ukrainian children.
 
I bet someone who knows computer stuff could create a video of Putin, Xi, and Trump all posing for a congratulations photo op. Only make Trump's head about waist high.

China isn't a signatory to the Rome Statute, so there's no problem with Putin visiting China. As if Xi, who has himself sent thousands of Uyghur children to re-education camps, would give a flying fuck about Russia doing the same to Ukrainian children.

Still, as TV&CC points out, it’s not a good look. China likes to deny its genocidal proclivities, not advertise them. And Xi is going to Russia; Putler is staying safe at home.
