It's impossible to get hard numbers on how many atheists there are in the middle east, but it sure seems like atheism is growing over there.

It's impossible to get hard numbers on how many atheists there are in the middle east, but it sure seems like atheism is growing over there.

Yet another reason why those that very publicly defend and argue for atheism (the "militants") are a very positive political and moral force.

It's difficult to come by any real numbers, but for example the rate at which words like atheism get used in the Arabic/Persian parts of Twitter seem to indicate that atheism has been on the rise for some time. We are seeing more and more state violence and mob violence directed at atheists in Muslim countries, and more and more imams and clerics are speaking out against atheism in public.

This would seem to suggest that atheism is on the rise and is becoming bolder.
