Barr is Investigating The Russian Interference Investigators

ersonally, I would have preferred if the action could have been accomplished in the day, peaceably, without any trouble, obstruction, avoidance, or other rat-fuckery. But this is the real world.
Yeah, problem is, if a warrant is issued at 8 am, the connected criminals will hear about it by 8:30. Or the really well connected will hear about it when the paperwork is submitted for the judge to sign.

Hence my point: it was necessary to prevent rat-fuckers from fucking their rats

This "investigation" is pure Republican moonshine, suitable for asshats who believe all the conspiracies alleged by our unhinged "President". It's all for the sake of Emperor Donald, who actually believes (I guess, if a compulsive liar believes anything) that treason was committed against him. What's needed is an investigation into the investigation of the investigation.
First of all, T's campaign -- his own son -- did sit down with the Russkies, and OF COURSE that need to be looked at. Then his campaign had multiple, dozens, of additional contacts with Russian nationals, followed by multiple lies about any of that happening. Then of course Comey, who could have announced in October '16 that the FBI was assessing these contacts, did no such thing, and instead threw a perfect jinx onto Hillary's campaign, just days before the election. That's just how much the "deep state" had it in for Trump.
This new "investigation" simply demonstrates that Trump has created an AG office that acts as his personal legal service and propaganda wing. It will be something that Lindsey Graham screams about when impeachment comes to a vote. "Look, y'all, we have the DOJ investigating how unfair the other side has been to this President. The anti-Trump movement has been unfair from the start, and we must rescue this President from his enemies!"
And it will probably work. Our system has been conned and gamed by an orange hustler from Manhattan.

The Democrats "Russia investigation" was pure Democratic moonshine, suitable for asshats who believe all the conspiracies alleged by our unhinged "liberals". Or at least that is what the other side says every day on my radio when I go to work. And since the Mueller report was factually found to actually be a big nothing burger....I guess I can see where they are coming from. Nobody that I know of went to jail for anything actually related to "their Russia investigation".

In any case, whats good for the goose should and will be perfectly fine for the gander. The Democrats thought everyone would be happy with their 2 year long investigation of Trump. Just like the Republicans thought everyone should be happy about their blowjob investigation of Clinton. And now the Democrats can be happy with Trumps investigation of them.

Its only fitting. And as far as Im concerned, both parties are all a bunch of corrupted crooks anyway. I figure a little bit of investigating is just what they need and I just hope they can somehow get Hillary into this as well. Maybe Trump can still make good on locking her up as he promised in the campaign.

I just can not wait.

It gets so fucking annoying to read posts that keep saying the Trump appointee who initiated the Mueller investigation was a Democrat run investigation.

Or that it was an investigation into nothing; we have multiple convictions for major crimes, multiple open-air crimes of asking for foreign interference, admitted discussion about "adoptions", which is clear discussion about sanctions (quit pro quo anyone?). The list of crimes admitted to plainly, on Twitter no less is staggering; there is no conspiracy to be invoked. Not.only is he a criminal, but he tweeted out exactly how he is a criminal. Posted memos about it.

Who cares whether it was Democrats or Trump hating Republicans? Im pretty sure whoever they were, they were not friendly to Trump for 2 years straight.

Star Lord and his space racoon could have started the fake Russia investigation for all I would care. With the same end result.

Yes it was just exactly that. A partisan fight with a whole bunch of collateral damage going to jail on unrelated charges.

Well Im hoping the same thing happens again with Barr. Maybe they will accidentally find something to lock Hillary up and make good on that promise.

Sure turned up a lot of guilty pleas though...

Trump (R) fired FBI Director Comey (R) over his not ending the Michael Flynn (R) investigation. Then Trump (R) said on camera to the Russians (actual Russians) at the White House that the firing of Comey (R) helped him a lot. This led to Rod Rosenstein (R), who was appointed to his position by Trump (R) and approved by the GOP controlled Senate to launch an investigation led by Robert Mueller (R). You'll notice no D's in there. The GOP had nodded agreement with the selection of Mueller.

Republicans joined in the parade of praise for Mueller, undoubtedly relieved that Rosenstein’s decision would lift at least part of Trump’s political burden from their shoulders. GOP lawmakers have been hounded by reporters in recent days seeking their reactions to the latest bombshell media reports, and Mueller’s appointment allows them to defer to an investigation that now has bipartisan credibility. Representative Jason Chaffetz of Utah, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, called Mueller “a great selection” with “impeccable credentials.” Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said the former FBI chief “has a strong reputation for independence, and comes with the right credentials for this job.” Senator Cory Gardner of Colorado said Mueller had “an incredible reputation.” “It’s the right decision,” he said Thursday morning at an event hosted by The Atlantic. “Let’s get the facts, let’s get the information, and let us proceed with all haste.”

Mueller generally targeted Republicans (actually people in Trump's circle) because they were the ones that committed the crimes. Mueller ultimately published a report that was meant to get Trump impeached and removed from office over several instances of obstruction of justice. The GOP balked of course and Barr, of whom you seem to be championing, cited the report out of context in order to create a pretext to allow the GOP to ignore the findings.

Because, if you're not with him, you're part of a vast criminal conspiracy to fabricate evidence against him. How gloriously uncomplicated is the binary mind.

At this point, anyone who defends Trump does not understand the tale of the boy who cried wolf. Of course, that was true in 2012, when he was Birther Don.

Its called being an Independent. And there are a lot of us actually.

I do not believe either party has all the answers and I try to pick who I think will best represent my interests. And if more people did just exactly the same, I believe the country would be far better served. For one thing, more independent types like Jesse Ventura and Bernie Sanders would have a chance without selling themselves out to one or the other monopoly parties.

I guess it might also be fair to say I am a 'liker of anything non-conventional' right now. But that is mainly because I believe the country is fairly fucked up right now and that most anything non-conventional would probably help. But if the country was doing better and conventional was working, then you can bet I would be far more conventional. But since conventional isn't working I'm for trying anything that looks promising. Einstein said it best, "Insanity is the definition of repeating the same thing that you already know does not work."

Investigate everyone who has power. Republicans and Democrats (and miscellaneous).

The RED & BLUE fanatics must be bypassed in favor of a non-partisan process which investigates everyone without distinction. ALL should be investigated, presumed "guilty" until proven innocent.

To start an investigation, probable cause is needed. Where is the probable cause that the investigators committed crimes?

Or would you just prefer show trials by a star chamber.

We need investigations of everyone in power. Or at least everyone who is accused of anything by anyone.

The investigating bodies need to be non-partisan, not appointed by anyone holding partisan office and not consisting of any partisan office-holders. They can report their findings, regardless whether there's a criminal violation. But if they find something criminal, their report would recommend criminal prosecution.

The most important function might be the fact-finding service, giving citizens good information about irresponsible behavior of those in power, rather than determining formal guilt or innocence of individuals accused of crimes. Much corruption could be exposed even if the exact criminal acts are not determined. Such investigations would serve as a deterrent to bad behavior, plus also get needed investigations done while allowing the lawmakers to turn their attention to their proper legislative function instead of the political demagoguery.

I accuse you of molesting shih tsu puppies. We should, with great amounts of news coverage, tear into your personal life for all to see.

If I had any power you should.

Everyone who has disproportionate power should be subject to regular investigation, by grand jury or other non-partisan body empowered to issue subpoenas. Ultimately it should not be limited to those accused of something criminal, but to all of them -- period, to force them to account for all their decisions which impact millions of lives.

The findings would not necessarily be to accuse them of anything criminal -- though that would be included -- but to judge their behavior or their decisions and to find fault, even if it's not criminal.

Though this might be limited at first to only elected officials and their appointees, ultimately it should be expanded to include others who have power, like CEOs of major corporations and all major TV/radio talk-show hosts and talking heads.

These persons exercising extreme influence or power over millions of us should be required to account for everything they do or say in their exercise of this power.

It's not enough to investigate only the Trump crimes and those of the Obama-Clinton cabal, but all others as well, and to include all bad behavior even if it's not technically criminal.

Everyone who has disproportionate power should be subject to regular investigation *snip*

So, you mean like a series of, I don't know, checks and balances, where, say, the government could be partitioned into three distinct chambers--each with certain oversights and responsibilities to keep the others in check--and various departments underneath them that serve as their investigative and prosecutorial arms, each with certain autonomous powers and mandates of their own?

Congratulations, you've invented the wheel!

As it stands the party in power generally doesn't get investigated.

I would set up a separate investigative branch where the parties had separate budgets and authority, the majority can't vote to not investigate something the minority wants investigated.

But wouldn't that just mean unrestricted partisan hounding?

A branch with absolutely nothing to do but bullshit like Ken Starr's investigation?
Or spend 25 years on Ben Ghazi?

What sort of checks/balances would there be on their investigations? Say, like Trump announcing he had people finding 'interesting stuff' about Hawaii birth certificates? Or Comey announcing that Hillary was being investigated? What prevents one of these investigator branches from saying right before an election hat they're looking into Candidate X, to spin an election?

Not to mention the fact that, as your examples prove, we already have that situation right now, so again, there is no need to reinvent the wheel. It already exists. If anything, we need better ways to restrict such investigations, since the right uses them purely politically.
