Berkeley "liberals" contra free speech

An inability to do that reflects the extremist nature of their views.

On the contrary. The unwillingness of the Left to oppose extremism from the Left or even extremism from organizations like "Nation of Islam" (which are right-wing but not opposed by the Left because of their racial identity) shows the moral bankruptcy of the modern Left.

Neo Nazis are active here, the Nation of Islam is not.

Antifa - middle class white boys LARPing as radicals.

I don't condone such actions. That is vandalism. It also looks as it were anarchists.

I agree with Jason on this one.

Protesting his speech is one thing, but keeping him from speaking is quite another.

One would hope all posters on this forum would agree. After all, we're mostly atheists and agnostics. Plenty of folks out there feel that the non-religious should be shut down or killed. If you don't support Milo and his followers' right to have a different viewpoint, then there's no basis to protest when intolerant thugs go after us.

The use of violence was wrong, but peaceful efforts to preventing a person from being given University resources to give a hate-rally under the guise of a "speech" is not the same as preventing them from speaking at all.

Milo gets rather close if not beyond the line into targeted hate speech towards specific students on campus. At the University of Milwaukee, he put up a pic of a transgender student then mocked their "failure to pass for a woman", and the alt-right student group that had invited him all had a good laugh at this student. This was in a publicly advertised talk in University facility, using University A/V equipment and at which that student was actually in attendance. There is a reasonable argument that such a person could be refused access to University resources to engage is such activities.

Well, maybe. But withdrawing an invite for such behavior is much different than using that behavior as an excuse to act badly yourself.

So may I assume you support rioting against people you disagree with? Would you also support rioting against left-wing speakers at colleges?

I am a strong supporter of denying a platform for Fascists and Nazis to spread their ideology including offensive action. In my mind they lost their right to this platform in WWII.

I am Antifa. I've supported Anti-Racist Action since their formation in the 1980s.

Milo is neither a Fascist and no where near a Nazi. He is closest to a Libertarian.

And not only is he flamboyantly gay, he brags about engaging in oral sex with black men.

starting at about 49:40 is what you are talking about:

The student in question needs mental help and should not be disrupting every one else's restroom experience. HE is a selfish, misguided lunatic.

Ah, so a student in need of mental health assistance should be publicly humiliated, attacked and ridiculed using University resources?

it is not an attack to say that he is a man.

A man who wants in to a women's restroom.

Although I don't know enough about Milo, based on my experiences with SJWs using the word "fascist" I suspected he wasn't one. There appear to be two definitions of "fascist" in play.

1. Actual fascists
2. Anyone who disagrees with an SJW on even the smallest point

He does appear to be a white supremacist.

Apparently the student in question, Justin(e) Kramer, gained a bit of notoriety for trying get access to women's locker rooms. He has already made himself a public figure on that campus. So why shouldn't Milo talk about him?

Why couldn't she use the restroom?

He's closest to a piece of hateful shit who has never had a reasoned thought about anything and cares about nothing and no one but his own controversy-based fame. His appeal is almost entirely to neo-fascists hiding behind pseudo-libertarian rhetoric. His listeners have far more in common with card-carrying members of the KKK than with anyone intellectually capable of understanding what actual libertarianism means beyond the infantile and false notion that it is anti-government regulation.
BTW, the fact that a hate-spewing gay man who calls himself a "faggot" (b/c that is what his fans hatefully call all gays) talks about fucking black men does not negate the fact that his followers are homophobic racists, it supports it.

That said, even though he does almost nothing but inflame violence-promoting hate and bigotry in his mindless minions, shutting down his speeches with violence is wrong.

Talking about a policy issue isn't the same as what he did, which is show a pic of the person for the sole purpose of publicly humilating them and mocking their appearance and gender identify. No legitimate discussion of the politics related to that restroom issue would even require mentioning any individuals name, let alone what he did.

If Kramer is one of those "transgenders" who is attracted to women (and there are a lot) that would make the situation even more creepy.

I think Milo was right to use this example with the picture.

Again, he placed himself in the public sphere already. Note that Milo used a screen grab from the same news report I did. He did not violate his privacy or anything.

And I think the way Kramer looks does have a bearing. If we separate locker rooms by gender, then there must be reasonable standards as to who should qualify as a man or woman. Putting on a dress on and adding an "e" to the end of your name does not a woman make.
queen-i-want-to-break-free-works.jpg

Even with Freddie's mustache, they look much more like women than Kramer, especially Roger Taylor, lol.

Note that locker rooms are more difficult that restrooms, where you have stalls and some privacy. Although the logical solution would be to just say "fuck it" and just have one locker room for everyone. In Europe naked all-gender saunas are common, so why not.

Do you ever stop to wonder why people that have no interest in Milo now have their curiosity piqued ?

As usual, you miss the point. There is no reason to name the student. Just like there is no reason to question whether the student looks like the appropriate gender because neither is germane to the issue of who should be allowed in a gender-specific locker room or rest room.
