Biden wants to Appoint Communist to take over Banking: Scary & Unbelievable

The open source community is a perfectly valid use of the concept of mutualism as Proudhon envisioned it, and it constitutes proof that, at least in certain applications, the concept of mutualism is actually applicable. I like the kind of creative community that surrounds open source, and I believe that the concept could eventually be expanded into broader applications. Jimmy Wales implemented a similar theory for Wikipedia, and Wikipedia has been exceedingly popular.

I find those types of creative communities to be intrinsically rewarding. I like them for reasons beyond just the product. It makes me feel very happy and positive about human nature. It gives me a sense of optimism and warmth. I think that I would enjoy feeling that way more often.

If you don't want to acknowledge that Proudhon's ideas were a historical influence on the development of the open source community and of wikis, then I will not pressure you to do so, even though you would be objectively in denial of well-established fact.
People take inspiration where they find it, logic be damned; and Proudhon contradicted himself like the Bible that slavers and abolitionists were equally historically influenced by. If you and Stallman were inspired by Proudhon's pro-liberty arguments while others were inspired by his arguments for banning economic arrangements not to his taste, well, hey, socialism was a massive historical influence on the labor union movement even though when they get control of a country real live socialists invariably prohibit independent labor unions. Such is the human condition.

The thing to keep in mind, though, is that mutualism of the sort you're praising can only exist as a niche element -- most production cannot be sustained that way. "Good theory, wrong species." We've already seen what happens when activists try to make that the dominant means of organizing production -- in1930s revolutionary Spain.

They may not notice as long as it's all theory and advocacy, but when they get their way, it turns out there are actually two completely different kinds of people whom the anarcho-communist business model appeals to. Some people like worker co-ops because workers running a business themselves and sharing the profits and choosing policies and managers democratically is gut-level appealing to them. But there are other people who like worker co-ops because in their guts they hate capitalism, inequality, and the profit motive. If an anarchist movement becomes dominant in a society, the cooperation between these two factions will inevitably break down in the face of this underlying conflict of interest. When you hand control of a business over to its workers, they become proprietors. It makes those workers start to think like capitalists. Some such businesses prosper and their workers become affluent, while other such businesses languish and their workers become poorer than back when they were working for owners and owner-appointed bosses. And the newly empowered worker-owners raise their own wages and improve their own working conditions to the point where their business no longer shows a profit that can be taxed to support needy non-employees. The workplace-democracy-anarchists are all "Yeah, and?"; but the equality-anarchists find the new situation intolerable. The former shared common goal of giving power to the workers now founders over the entirely foreseeable question: "Which workers?". And when that alliance of convenience breaks down and a power struggle ensues, the equality-anarchists win. They're more numerous and they're more ruthless. The workers at a business will no longer be allowed to elect their own bosses. The bosses will instead be appointed by "the workers collectively". I.e., by all the workers in the society rather than by just the workers at the business. I.e., by the self-appointed representatives of all the workers in the society. I.e., by the leadership of the equality wing of the Anarchist Party.

So if you like voluntary mutualism as a means of organizing production, you need to maintain the sort of society that's able to preserve voluntary mutualism: a capitalist society.

socialism was a massive historical influence on the labor union movement even though when they get control of a country real live socialists invariably prohibit independent labor unions. Such is the human condition.
All labour unions want a monopoly, and strive to have all workers a part of their organisation.

That they historically prohibit independent labour unions when they achieve this objective is not contradictory nor hypocritical.

And you think Biden wil get tough on the Chinese? He's in bed with them. Trump called them out to the whole world for releasing the virus and said they will pay for doing that. Biden is now letting China run amok.
Ford and Loren were talking about how you don't have the slightest fucking idea about the modern day Chinese government. That you failed to address this and instead deflect like the shittiest Jedi around is pretty telling.
blah blah, Joe Biden, blah blah blah, Hunter Biden here's some shit from the NYPost.
Again, not willing to address that know jack fucking shit about China or the fact that you think "communist" means either anyone who disagrees with you or whoever the right is currently fucking terrified towards.
You realize I made a post in this thread about how China didn't get lifted out of poverty until they embraced capitalism? But, their government is still very authoritarian overall.

I like how you ignore all bad news against Biden. Why is that? Establishment media treated Trump like dirt. Why is that? How can a guy who you guys claim is "pure establishment" be hated so much by the establishment media? There are still a bunch of people who actually believe Trump was status-quo establishment. If that was the case, the media would've loved him! Remember when Trump enacted the travel ban when coronavirus started and everyone screamed he was racist and xenophobic? Biden bans travel due to the new variant and the media isn't calling him a racist xenophobe. Funny, right?
The media treated Trump as well as possible... treating that complete piece of shit like he was just 'dirt' was like treating a convicted pediphile like they were the pope.

Your outrage is silly and easily dismissed with the same kind of hand-wave you give a toddler that just discovered the word 'No'.... no one is suggesting that the US will ever even think about abandoning capitalism.. not that you seem to even know the difference between economic systems, social support systems, or systems that establish governmental authority.

I am 'micro-concerned' about the 'micro-agressions' against the fragile snowflakes that call themselves 'patriots'.

This is silly. I bet you you didn't know that Trump put the toughest sanctions on North Korea and this lead Kim Jong to want to meet with Trump and he promised to stop nuclear testing. No other President did that. Yet, somehow Trump was bad for doing this? You guys need to stop reading the fake news.

"On September 21, 2017, President Donald Trump issued Executive Order (E.O.) 13810, which broadly expanded U.S. sanctions against North Korea. E.O. 13810 targets, among others, individuals and entities that are part of certain key sectors of North Korea’s economy, persons that trade with North Korea, aircraft and vessels that have traveled to North Korea and funds of North Korean persons. Significantly, E.O. 13810 authorizes the secretary of the treasury to impose so-called secondary sanctions on foreign financial institutions that engage in a range of transactions involving North Korea. These new measures could have a significant impact on individuals or entities in China and elsewhere that trade with North Korea and financial institutions that process related transactions."

"No aircraft in which a foreign person has an interest that has landed in North Korea may land in the United States within 180 days after departure from North Korea. Similarly, no vessel in which a foreign person has an interest that has docked in North Korea within the previous 180 days, and no vessel in which a foreign person has an interest that has engaged in a ship-to-ship transfer with such a vessel within the previous 180 days, may port in the United States. General License 10, issued by OFAC concurrently with E.O. 13810, authorizes aircraft and vessels subject to these restrictions to enter the United States in emergency situations."

But I thought the fake news told me that Trump is a bumbling fool who has no policies?!?!

This is silly. I bet you you didn't know that Trump put the toughest sanctions on North Korea and this lead Kim Jong to want to meet with Trump and he promised to stop nuclear testing.

1) What the fuck does North Korea have to do with anything?

2) North Korea made a promise did they? Fuck, that never happened before. Problem solved I guess.

I wonder how much these are worth now.

But I thought the fake news told me that Trump is a bumbling fool who has no policies?!?!
That's true. I'll let you in on another secret - you don't have a fucking clue what policy is or what it entails.

Belligerent assertion of victimhood. So common in the right wing.

They haven't conducted a nuclear test since September 3, 2 weeks before Trump placed the sanctions on North Korea. Trump got Kim Jong shaking in his boots and gt him to give in to Trump. Not bad for a bumbling fool of a President, right?

You realize it's the democrats who play the victimhood card nonstop right? This is a case of projection.

Pure projection.

Generation 55, do you even remember what this thread that you started was even about? In all seriousness are you suffering from a condition that has an adverse affect to your attention span? You appear to be simply spewing unrelated bullshit with no rhyme nor reason.

I'd still like to know how man commies Gen55 thinks are posting on this thread...cuz he sure seems to think there are quite a few...

Also, how many Battleships (not the plastic ones with holes for pegs) does Gen55 think the US has operational? After all, in Gen55's world his Trump sent one to NY...

To be fair, Trump did want to nuke hurricanes. Using a decommissioned battleship to shell Covid into oblivion does seems par for the course. I mean a virus is smaller than a hurricane so nuking it would be excessive. A battleship can do the job using Maga logic.

OH, it was a Navy hospital ship. Excuse me. Cuomo ignored it. He sent the old people to die in nursing homes. Bigger scandal than anything Trump ever did and during that time people were saying, "Cuomo for President! Such a great leader!" and people like me were laughing hysterically.

Yes but like I said, the conversation travels sometimes. Plus, this is my thread! I'm not mad. But ever since I pointed out that Kim Jong stopped the nuclear tests once Trump put the sanctions in place shows you just how scared Kim Jong wa of Trump. Trump actually did something no other President ever did. Yet, people still say he was a bumbling fool who couldn't pick up his pants.

There's travelling and then there's going from discussing a Biden appointee to China to Trump to North Korea to some fucking youtube guy named Hasan in the space of a handful of pages. Incoherent bullshit.
Plus, this is my thread!
Okay, Veruca. I'll get you an Oompa Loompa.
Plus, this is my thread!
Rest assured, I don't think anyone has a single fuck to give.

I wish I could say I'm surprised you don't know the difference between correlation and causation, but I'm not.
Yet, people still say he was a bumbling fool who couldn't pick up his pants.
I've never heard anyone call him that. I've heard a lot of people call him a vile cunt, but nothing as gentle as what you claim people have said.

There's videos on youtube of Republicans such as Rand Paul grilling Fauci, screaming at him, and basically crucifying him. Fauci was dead in the water. But, CNN and MSNBC don't play those hearings on loop.

I would consider being crucified by Rand Paul as a positive recommendation.

The paper in question sounds a lot like the Chicago Plan advocated by Irving Fisher, Henry Simons and Milton Friedman (extreme free-market liberals). Private financial institutions would be perfectly free to intermediate between savers, borrowers and investors and would still have access to Fed funds. But the power to create money on Main St would be insulated from the casino banking of Wall St:

If Main Street can't "create money" then banks can't loan, they have no way to make money and they will close.

And note that giving banks access to Wall Street was done to keep the whole banking system from crashing due to holding a bunch of fixed-rate mortgages in times of rising interest. It's not an ideal system--but an ideal system can't exist.
I can't tell whether you misunderstand the proposal, the banking and monetary system or both.

Money is "created" by making loans. If you say banks can't create money that means they can't make loans. No loans = no income = no bank.

They didn't use it because it was supposed to be for the uninfected--but that didn't work out so well.

As for the nursing homes--those patients came from the nursing homes in the first place. Covid was already in the nursing homes, even if they were infectious when sent back (unlikely) that would have amounted to throwing a twig on a bonfire.

Lets look at those nuclear tests. Other than the group of three they were testing 3-4 years apart. You're giving credit to His Flatulence for something that probably would have happened anyway.

OH, it was a Navy hospital ship. Excuse me.
No. Not likely. I mean, you COULD have said "he sent a ship" and been completely correct. Or "...a military asset" or "military personnel" or "Navy issued doctor people." All KINDS of things you might have said to make your point.
But, alas, you half-remembered an anecdote and were content to just make shit up.

And not even good shit.

We do not have a battleship Trump could have sent, not a manned and operational one, and it would not have been terribly useful anyway.

You show you are not really familiar with the topic, the details. You are clesrly just parroting shit you kinda heard, half-remember, and baselessly feel strongly about. And you come out looking rather like you went off half-cocked. Or cucked.

Staff Notice - Just because you started the thread doesn't give you permission to derail it. You need to stick to the topic.
