That's because he ran as a moderate. Emphasis on "ran". He is actually governing like a fucking honorary Squad member, at least on domestic policies.

Which is so much better than so many of us had hoped!

Biden forms relationships, reaches across the aisle, forms alliances as well as or better than most moderates.

But given his own head, it's easy to see how he has evolved as a person and as a leader.

I'm sure we don't want to relitigate the Biden-Bernie split, but I think most experts would disagree with you here. Recall that Americans who self-identify as "Conservative" strongly outnumber "Liberal." "Conservative or Moderate" outnumber "Liberal" three-to-one.

One poll showed Biden ahead of Trump by 8 points in the all-important swing state of Pennsylvania. Sanders also led Trump, but by only 4 points. In the event Biden did beat Trump but by barely more than 1%. All else equal (yes I know it wouldn't be!) this would imply a a Sanders loss by 3 points.
