Black kids in Australia were stealing from shop and then owner put up ill advised sign

Just teach all kids regardless of colour not to steal and there would not be this issue.
How the fuck is that a reply? The question was not how to make this issue go away, but whether this 'issue' is right or wrong?

How do you justify my being held responsible for the behavior of other people?

Can I be punished for other people's kids' behavior because I'm also a parent?
Or I'm the same race as they are? (Kids or parents)
Or for being the same nationality?
Religion?
Language?

I assume the ''issue'' to which you refer is the sign. And you ask whether it is right or wrong? What not face the "issue" of the thieving that started the whole incident. Is that right or wrong?

The store owner did not start the incident. He was reacting to the thieving. He is trying to protect his business, his livelihood.

If you dislike the sign perhaps you could suggest some steps the owner could take to protect his business?

How is this sign gonna make his business better?

It doesn't have to. He just has to think that.

Why would he think that? He might feel that. In which case this was not done as a business decision.

There was store on the highway that ran behind my middle school. Kids at recess and after school would go to Mr. Brown's and Mr. Brown found that merchandise was "disappearing" from his shelves. Now, Mr Brown did think and he made business decisions and he looked around his store and saw black AND white kids were taking things without paying. SO HE put up a sign too. ONLY 2 CHILDREN AT A TIME UNDER 16 ALLOWED IN THE STORE DURING SCHOOL HOURS WITHOUT AN ACCOMPANYING ADULT. Problem solved and no hard feelings.

see, when you don't already hate on black kids, you can see problems for what they are and come up with solutions that work and not reactions that vent your anger.

Oh I'm not making excuses for his decision, only offering that it could have been out of folly rather than malice.

I've seen such signs. A much better solution for all. Hopefully someone will recommend it to the store owner.
