Boycott Trump and his revolting family with this handy spreadsheet.

Here is word of fashion designers refusing to dress Melania Trump.

I recall the "progressive" position on such things is that if they hold themselves open for business as a fashion designer they should not discriminate against people based on their personal beliefs.

So presumably progressives would have the government force these designers to dress Melania.

It's just a few people who may do this but certainly not enough for a nationwide boycott.

It may be many more than you think. I haven't been refused service anywhere but then I am not a Trump supporter. But I have had several people in my face screaming because I don't support some of their views that I consider extremest left wing ideas. I could easily see these people refusing to serve someone wearing a Trump t-shirt if anyone was dumb enough to hire them for a position where they had to deal with the public.

Without even looking at the list, I think I'm probably safe.

After looking at the list... aww fuck! Ivanka has her tenticles everywhere, including the TJX Corp.

The majority of that list is nonsense. In fact supporting the retailers who stock Trump related merchandise while not buying any of that garbage actually is more harmful to the Trump brands. They're paying for shelf space in brick & mortar stores, and if their products are underselling other similar products they're more likely to get booted than a general slump in sales for the retailer.

Second this. The ones carrying Trump products should not be on the list.

Once you remove that the only one I deal with is New Balance and I don't really have a choice there. It's exceedingly rare for me to find a shoe in any other brand that fits me. (New Balance sizes sometimes top out at 13EEEE. 13EE is it from just about everyone else.)

This is true where the problem is with the server not the customer.

Good, looks like I have been boycotting Trump for a while. Now, what should I do to boycott Clintons?

Don't donate to their charities. They, being a family of public servants, aren't engaged in business for themselves. That is what being a public servant is about.. .their decisions are based on what they think is good for the country... even if you disagree with what they think is best for the country.
When you elect a businessman into political office, you do the opposite.. you put into position of great power a person who will, by nature, by profession, by experience, and by reflex, makes decisions that are the most financially lucrative for themselves.

The people most hurt by boycotts are the low level workers who have nothing to do with the company decisions that end up getting laid off if sales drop.
But they are all overpaid spoiled brats who deserve it, right?

This was from a designer not designers, and the content of the letter was a sublime to asininity.

Of course the Republican Party/Trump are against illegal immigration and clearly support legal immigration through the correct security vetting procedure.
Trump agenda is to remove and illegals with a criminal record from the USA. So deporting known drug dealers and other types of criminals is not xenophobia but something that should have been done years ago.

This isn't a matter of personal beliefs, but objection to a single person. I have no problem with a business deciding they don't want to deal with a particular scumbag.

As per my earlier post on the previous page the reasons she gave were lame but there are plenty in the fashion industry to fill the position. She can still dress the former first lady since I am sure things did not change. There is nothing racist or xenophobic of course in booting out illegals with a criminal records. Nor is there anything wrong with Trump supporting Israel but he should also give consideration for the Palestinians.

As I understand, this started because a Trump supporter was refused service...
Wrong, but this just goes to show how stupid and gullible Trump supporters are.

A racist jack-ass went on a paranoid racist rant at a Starbucks employee in Miami because he thought his coffee took too long to be served. In his paranoid pea-brain, he decided it was because he is a Trump supporter even though the server had no way to know that until he went berserk on her and started screaming Trump's name

This is why I had to smile at the Trump supporter movement of telling the baristas at Starbuck's that their name was Trump when ordering rather than boycotting Starbuck's. As I understand, this started because a Trump supporter was refused service. The supporters decided that the baristas having to call out "Trump" when their order was ready was a good way to make a point rather than vindictively causing baristas to lose their jobs.

Is it common in the USA for people to be refused service in restaurants or cafes because of their political views?

Sure. Racists and bigots refuse to serve gays, minorities and others all the time

There are idiots scattered all over the world. One racist jack-ass is not representative of just under half of the USA. So is there a point to this?

That is also wrong but I would be surprised if this approaches the norm.

We can choose who we buy from but the fashion designer seems to confuse the expulsion of drug pushers, criminals and sex offenders who are illegally in the country with racism. No one has suggested deporting people who arrived in the US Illegally.

The point is that quite a few people are debating the merits of a Starbucks employee refusing to serve a Trump supporter when that is not what actually happened. He was not refused service. He called her racist names because he thought his coffee took too long, then started up with his "Trump Trump Trump" chant. In other words, this was essentially yet another racist attack by a Trump support.

Moreover, aside from the fact that I never said this idiot in Miami is representative of anyone other than himself, it is not a fact that "just under half of the USA" are Trump supporters. Barely 27% voted for him, while more than 27% voted for her.

Voting wasn't much lower than the previous election. So it sounds more like a few idiots caused some problems which were reported in the media. The papers often get the sequence of events wrong in an incident which looks like a public disorder issue. If racism was involved that would be a further reason to refuse them service.
