I pay little attention to such affairs. It's hard enough to keep up with the nonsense here in my own country.

But there was a poster on another forum who was a huge supporter of brexit. She went from cheering it on, to celebrating it's passage, to griping about how slowly it was being executed, to bitching about how the EU refuses to cooperate, to griping about how it was not supposed to work out this way, to not mentioning it any more. Over the course of a few years.

Brexit happened. And it is turning out to be a big bust. The anti-Brexit party is now The Reform Party. Not many people vote for them. And the sad state of post-Brexit Britain gets a big FU from many voters to the miserable Tories. And it doesn't look like the Liberal Democrats don't seem to be taken that seriously by most British. And Margaret Thatcher is still dead.

Look at the bright side. The pro-Brexit contingent will never, ever admit that they were wrong. So they aren't feeling too sad. If anything, the demise of their party's standing is an excuse to indulge in one of Britain's favorite hobbies, feeling vaguely put-upon and gloomy.
