Brooklyn police shooting

Think you're going to be able to close it???
Yes.

Just how powerful do you think the drive motors for the windows are?

And moving over might work if you have bench seats. Driving a car with bucket seats and controls between them it would not be easy.
Thank you for admitting that the claim "When you're in a car your ability to defend yourself against punches from someone outside is pretty much nil." is false.

If you have bench seats. I haven't seen a bench seat this century.

Hold an arm and bite it?? How in the world do you expect to do that? And you're risking disease that way.

Threatening to shoot is not an answer--you're too close. If you don't pull the trigger immediately upon drawing your gun it's likely to be taken from you.

He's hitting you isn't he? Just grab the fucking arm. Self defence 101. With the gun, just lean away from him. Try it in your own car next time, if you don't think its possible to lean on the passenger seat.

Your arm is bent, his is straight. He's got the better position, grabbing it isn't going to work given roughly equal strength.

As for leaning away--just how do you plan to get the gun beyond grabbing range?!?!

I know they work enough to at least get in the way.

You are being ridiculous. If you unable to move out of a captain's seat to avoid injury when you are not pinioned in, you are unable to get into the car in the first place. Your excuses are ridiculous.

Haven't we already had a thread on this shooting?

Clearly justified. When you're in a car your ability to defend yourself against punches from someone outside is pretty much nil. If you can't get away (and stopped at a red light you probably can't) your only defense is to escalate.

Nah.

They'll be a minor inconvenience, not an adequate defense.

The question is how fast can you move. You're not obligated to take a beating while trying to get out of the way--and nothing will stop the guy from just running around the other side, something he certainly can do faster than you can clamber over a center console.

He moved a couple of feet and stopped--something was probably there that we can't see.

Go ahead - tell us how it feels to punch throw a closed window.

Nope. Especially if you get the windows closed.

You think he will be able to close the window successfully??

The drive motors in those things are pretty weak. If it's a hand crank he has to put himself in even more danger to do it.

Yeah, that would be the bullet that hit him before he had a chance to throw a single punch.
If he, contrary to witness statements, didn't have a chance to throw a single punch whence did the injuries come from for which the cop had to be treated?

Self inflicted? Injury from a previous altercation? Had someone else punch him to cover it up? All within the realm of possibility.

Did you watch the video?

Tell you what, I will sit in a car with an open window. You come over and see how many punches you can land on me before you either cut or break your hand on the window.

You forget car windows are made of safety glass. It shatters into crumbs that are a very minimal threat, not into deadly slivers like ordinary window glass.

Enough of your blowing smoke. I'm waiting to witness the experiment.
