That isn't merely a stupid meaningless attempt at an insult that does insult people who engage in the act.

I'm not defending the false outrage, but again, there is a high road. And I have seen Colbert ride it like a master many times. This was not his finest hour, but he does seem to be gaining by this which is a good thing.
