CoE is in steep decline.

.....
Sunday church attendance is just 80 per cent of what it was in 2019,
Telegraph analysis has revealed, despite the Church of England claiming
that it has “bounced back” after the pandemic.‌

It was in a steep decline in the nineteen sixties, and it has never looked like recovering. This is just the continuation of a generation old doom spiral.

When I planned a trip to the UK in 1987, I remember reading that Brits find public proselytizing to be socially inept and that you just don't go into religion unless there's a tangible reason to go there. On the flight over, I sat next to two young Brits who had just finished a car trip across the USA. They told me there were two things that mystified them:
1 - the dime. How could a coin worth 10x a penny and 2x a nickel be such a small coin, and one that was so easy to lose?
2- our TV preachers. "Do you actually send them money??" I told them that I didn't, and no one I knew did, but clearly a lot of my countrymen did. And that was a miracle I couldn't explain.
