article said:
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will authorize $12 billion to $15 billion for a wall spanning the entire U.S.-Mexico border as soon as Sept. 30, the Republican leaders said Thursday.

Sigh... Fuck!!! While Ryan and McConnell didn't explicitly say money that was going to be used to help babies, the elderly and puppies/kittens would be used to pay for this insanity, they didn't deny it either.

Meanwhile, President Trump was mature about the wall in a tweet today:
Trump tweeting from his personal fucking Twitter Account still said:
of jobs and companies lost. If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting.

So is the wall to keep jobs from flowing out of the US? Meanwhile, the costs of mobilizing equipment to build such a wall, it just seems very expensive. Are you pouring it, or is it precast? Each provides it own trouble with building a wall that fucking long. The article does note that Paul Ryan never said "wall", which could mean maybe the existing fence is getting painted.

Why could this have been resolved during the Gadsden Purchase?!

He seriously expects Mexico to pay for it? Is he aware that presidential campaign is over and he won?
He should also make Russia pay for new NAVY ships he promised :)

Well, it is infrastructure spending. Sure, could have used that money to repair crumbling bridges or help address the growing problem of poor quality menu selections in the VIP lounges of private airports, but you do get a half-assed attempt to start building a wall that's going to be abandoned long before it's completed instead. It will forever stand as a monument to the stupidity of the American people in picking their leaders, so that's something.

I also can't wait for the first reaction to the news reports about the contractors using illegal immigrant labor to build the wall.

Naw, Trump will be too busy lifting sanctions related to Crimea for a minor reduction in the Russian Nuclear Weapon arsenal.

As long as we get to have giant "Trump" signs all along the ruins of the unfinished wall to forever shame that asshole...

You mean that Russia is going to scarp their electron bomb?

If you want them to scrap the electron bomb, you're going to need to give them Poland. It's a really good deal and one that could only have been made by a man with the best negotiation skills ever - I mean, seriously, they're just great.

It's called war mongering. If the successive US government hadn't spent trillions on chasing WMD bogeymen and changing bad regimes with chaos there would be plenty for that and some small change to build a wall. I doubt the Mexicans will without any special deals to effectively get the money back for this.
Anyway does Mexico really want to stop illegals entering the USA. They send money back to Mexico so it's good for its economy.

What about American businesses that rely on illegal immigration? Like Trump Industries.

But you're forgetting that infrastructure spending has a 2.3124X multiplier on the economy so we'll get to do all that other stuff too. *crosses self*

Nah, lets just extend the Arizona border straight across, finally giving it a real beach; and take Baja California. We would add roughly 1500 miles of warm beach front property for American vacationers. :cheeky:

At least he is a man if his word†, unlike Obama who promised to close GTMO and never did.*

† - BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

*- attempts to deal with Guantanamo Bay prison were met with fierce opposition by the Pussy Party, as were any attempts to hold trials in the US against those held in Guantanamo Bay. Prison inmate reduction was significant during Obama Administration.
FIFY

You forgot the law that prohibits federal funds from being used to modify the facilities or to transfer detainees to US soil.

Gee, I wonder why the peace-loving Putin did not offer to pay to have these detainees transferred?

Interesting that they won't give him the money til Sept. Why not RIGHT NOW?

Funding bills can be filibustered; they can't be routed thru committee to box out the filibuster.
