Covington student's lawsuit against WaPo dismissed

Perhaps, but I think it's improbable they would settle for a small amount, given their willingness to sue. But we probably won't find out.

Maybe there will be some unusual purchases, like for example a Koenigsegg or a huge house. That would be a hint of a favorable settlement.

I must say the news media behaved deplorably during that incident; they completely misrepresented what was happening to drive their "white people bad, minorities good" narrative.

I tend to think that Sandman likely got healthy settlements. His lawyer, L. Lin Wood, did a fairly good job getting a settlement for Richard Jewell. The first demand made on Sandman's behalf was that they make a retraction and apology and there would be no slander/libel suit. The fact that they refused to likely strengthened the suit against them making it more obvious that the "reporting" was malicious.

His other lawsuits have been dismissed.

By the same biased Jimmy Carter appointee who dismissed the original WaPo suit that was later settled.
I hope Sandman appeals. The conduct of these media outlets was deplorable.

I read the article blastula linked. The judge provided actual evidence to support his reasoning in dismissing the lawsuits of that alleged racist troll. Good luck with your white knighting.

Mr. Sandmann is lucky Mr. Phillip did not have a gun and feel threatened.

Lol, a Carter appointee has some kind of relevant bias?

It was settled under that same judge. And we still don't know how much he got on any settlement.
