Cricket... the game, not the insect

England are close to the semis. They keep slogging their way through the tournament, pretty much relying on limited performances at the bat to win their game against Pakistan. It was close in the end, but luckily for England, Archer can knock the ball around. England face New Zealand to finish the Super 8 round.

Applause to Afridi who managed an economical 7.5 an over rate and 4 wickets in the losing cause.

South Africa were unstoppable. The only unbeaten team in the group stages. New Zealand apparently didn't get the message.

They'll face the winner of India and England. India have the home advantage, and apparently the only fans attending this thing. How in the heck can the ICC afford this?

India spank New Zealand is an indisputable knockout victory for the T20 title. India's bats were vicious in the first 6 overs, before becoming merely very good. Then in the 15th over, things got a little interesting. India gave up three wickets, going from 203-1 to to 204-4. The crowd got a bit nervous. However, that'd be about it for the bowling exploits of New Zealand and India cracked something like 81732 runs in the final over. It wasn't a totally unsurmountable total to chase 255, but after a few overs, it was becoming one. About halfway in the chase it seemed clear that minus a pair of batters going for Stokes like centuries on 17 balls in a glorious partnership, this game was all but over.

So the winners were India and an Australia fanbase that could be happy to say "Well, at least New Zealand didn't win."
