Daredevil TV series on Netflix

Am I the only one slightly annoyed by the whole "not killing anyone" thing Daredevil has going on? Sure, it's consistent with the comic book version of the character, but it's happening within a world where Captain America is blasting people with machine guns and kicking them off of flying aircraft carriers and Iron Man is gunning down entire groups of terrorists. This just makes the whole "I can't cross that line without becoming the thing I'm fighting against" motif seem a bit ... off.

No, it fits.

You could put Matt in a world populated entirely by the Punisher, and he would probably still avoid killing, and he would still hypocritically make excuses for beating the crap out of people, torturing people for answers, and being a vigilante despite being a lawyer.

What I find amusing is that Matt is the kind of person who would agonize over being both a lawyer and a vigilante, but do it anyway, whereas She-Hulk probably would never stop and consider that she's being a hypocrite, or be aware of it and not care.

With regard to Cap, and Iron Man, neither one has ever had a problem with killing people. It is one of the reasons Cap is able to wield Mjolnir (and briefly does in the comics), whereas someone like DareDevil or Spider-Man is not.

Finally watched the last episode. Spoilers.

I gotta agree that Kingpin wasn't such a great character, clearly they were trying to make him as if he's constantly trying to hold it in and behave like civilized people, but that went just way overboard. He comes off as a neurotic child who couldn't possibly run a criminal empire.

But, the show really shines with all the other characters, and the rich foreshadowing of upcoming Luke Cage and Iron Fist series (and maybe Jessica Jones, but I'm not so familiar with the comic book so probably missed all those references), as well as worldbuilding for Daredevil Season 2 if there is going to be such a thing. Plus points for courage to kill of major likeable characters like Wesley and Ben Urich.

Jessica Jones comes from the adult "R-rated" imprint Marvel runs.

Her backstory is pretty twisted and she's emotionally damaged goods. Should make for good Netflix material.
