The Declaration of Human Sovereignty
We, the People of Earth, regard the need for freedom to be universal. Therefore, we hold that all individuals in all worlds are created equal and are endowed by the Creator with sacred and inalienable rights. Fundamental among these are the right to live as a free race on their Planet of Genesis, their Homeworld; the right of self-determination, self-sufficiency, and creative expression; the right to life without oppression; and the right to pursue in life a higher purpose and a higher calling that the Creator has provided to all.

  • "The right of sovereignty." ET's shall not rule us.
  • "The right of planetary sanctity." The Earth shall be free from any presence of ET's not explicitly authorized by us Earthlings.
  • "The right of sanctity of biological and genetic material." ET's should keep their hands or hand-equivalents off of human biological or genetic material. Period.
  • "The right of occupation." We claim the entire Solar System for ourselves, and forbid ET's from establishing bases without our permission.
  • "The right of peaceful navigation." We claim the right to travel anywhere in the Solar System, and the right to deny that right to ET's if we so choose.
But there is a certain problem with enforcement.
Although the Earth has undergone a long history of extraterrestrial visitation, the current situation is that the People of Earth are now suffering the effects of a global extraterrestrial intervention into human affairs. This intervention employs a strategy of deception, manipulation, and exploitation, the goal of which is control over humanity, which will result in the loss of human freedom and self-determination. It is now the sacred right and duty of the People of Earth to oppose, resist, and repel this extraterrestrial intervention, to declare and defend our sovereignty, our freedom, and our independence from all extraterrestrial forces.
Where is the evidence of such ET meddling? I checked the rest of that site, and it does not discuss that question in the detail that it deserves.

"Intervening extraterrestrial forces have refused to openly disclose and reveal the nature and intent of their activities on and around Earth." -- of course, since any visiting ET's have not contacted us in some unmistakable fashion.

"As is becoming increasingly apparent from their actions, extraterrestrial forces intend to exploit the Earth, its resources, and its people, and are engaged in a systematic program of colonizing humanity into a subservient client state to be ruled by agents of these extraterrestrial forces." -- total hooey. It would take ET involvement on a massive scale to do that.

"Extraterrestrial forces have repeatedly and with impunity violated national and international laws of the Earth’s people." -- airspace violation, sexual assault, cruel experiments, cattle mutilations, infiltration into human society, etc.

"Extraterrestrial forces have secretly negotiated treaties and agreements with human individuals and groups, without the informed consent of the People of Earth." -- tinfoil-hat territory.

"Extraterrestrial forces have systematically attempted to persuade and mislead humans through extending false hopes and promises of wealth, power, and protection; rescue from planetary catastrophe; membership in a “galactic federation”; and spiritual salvation and enlightenment." -- meaning that UFO contactees have been hoodwinked by their ET contacts.

"Extraterrestrial forces have exploited and exacerbated human conflicts to serve their own ends." -- more tinfoil-hat territory.

"Extraterrestrial forces have been disempowering humanity by leading us to believe that we can only survive with their help and their advanced technology, thus fostering our complete dependence upon them and denying our ability to ensure our own survival." -- still more tinfoil-hat territory.

There is a further problem with sovereignty claims. From
International waters, no nation has sovereignty over any of the ocean that is far enough from claimed land. Outer space has the same status.

That means that ET's have a right of free passage in any of outer space, even very near our planet.

A workaround would be for some suitable international organization to claim it. The one that is closest to being a representative of all humanity is the United Nations, so the UN could claim sovereignty on behalf of all its member nations. That would be practical for international waters and the airspace above it, but the farther one gets from our planet, the less practical it gets. Here are possible boundaries:
  • Low Earth orbit: less than 500 - 1000 km above the Earth's surface
  • Geosynchronous orbit: less than 50,000 - 100,000 km from the Earth
  • Moon's orbit: less than 400,000 km from the Earth
  • Hill sphere (where the Earth's gravity dominates): less than 1.5 million km from the Earth
  • Inner solar system: less than 250 million km from the Sun
  • Outer solar system: less than 5 billion km from the Sun
  • Kuiper belt: less than 10 billion km from the Sun
  • Scattered disc: less than 100 billion km from the Sun
  • Oort cloud: less than 10 trillion km from the Sun
That last one is well into interstellar space, and not much less than half the distance to the nearest star to the Sun. So I'll stop there.

Wow. I'm always wary when ego gets in the way, as it does with this "Declaration of Sovereignty over our Planet". We're humans, we fight and spill blood and launch corpses through the air to momentarily claim triumph over a tiny fraction of our tiny planet, awash in a vast cosmic ocean. (Thanks, Sagan)

Why would anyone think that an advanced species, capable of interstellar travel would come here to do the same thing when there's a whole Universe (multiverse) to explore? Get over yourselves, sheesh.

What if it's good alien like Superman or Supergirl (also, why does the misogynistic spell checker recognize Superman as a valid word, but sees Supergirl as a mistake)? We kind of want them around.

Also, Supergirl is pretty hot, so I wouldn't want any restrictions against her getting hands on with my genetic material.\
