Do Democrats Realize They Are The Party Of Racism?

Did you read all those LBJ quotes on page 3 that I posted? He was a frightening rabid racist of a man and he still gave in to passing it out of societal pressure. So yes, a Democrat signing it while screaming "n****r!" is good for Democrats, I guess?

I must have missed the post where you showed that the majority of Democrats voted against the Civil Rights Act. Can you post it again?

Thanks.

In the Senate, the measure passed by a 77-19 vote, with 73 percent of Democrats and 94 percent of Republicans supporting the bill.

The House passed the bill after 70 days of public hearings and testimony in a 290-130 vote. The bill received 152 “yea” votes from Democrats, or 60 percent of their party, and 138 votes from Republicans, or 78 percent of their party.

After some changes were made to the bill and the filibuster ended, it passed the Senate with a 73-27 vote. About 82 percent of Republicans in the Senate voted for the bill, as did 69 percent of Democrats. The amended Senate bill was then sent back to the House where it passed with 76 percent support from Republicans and 60 percent support from Democrats.

Because "States Rights" was once used by racists, it is always and forever racist. Therefore when California opposes Trump on immigration policy and invokes States Rights" that means the leaders of California are racist. When Colorado legalized marijuana in opposition to federal DEA scheduling, that was racist. Because States Rights is always a racist policy.

Remember when the Federal Government passed the Fugitive Slave Law and Massachusetts nullified it with States Rights? That means Federalism is also racist. So if Federal power is racist, and state power is racist, what isn't racist?

Quotas were declared unconstitutional decades ago, probably before you were born.

I think you should continue your research. There's a lot you don't know about the political parties, Affirmative Action, and Donald Trump.

Many well-respected black men have spoken out against affirmative action.

It would be nice if you mentioned them by name, thereby giving credit where it's due and showing us you actually did your own research.

Oh, and try to include a few women, too. Men aren't the final authority on social issues.

Look up Clarence Thomas and Thomas Sowell.

So you agree that Democrats passed the legislation. Thanks for doing the homework and proving yourself wrong.

Listen Jason, States Rights, is a political philosophy, but it is also a dogwhistle to racists. There's nothing wrong with the philosophy, but a crowd of people chanting "States Rights" is still going to mean more than just "limited federal government involvement in local issues."

Maybe I'll stop hearing a racist code word when the racists stop using it as a code word.

That is grasping at straws. MORE Republicans percentage-wise supported it.

But all we hear today from the mainstream media is "Republicans are the racists!"

It's funny who can hear the dog whistles and who can't.

Is it at all possible you're hearing them when they aren't there?

Tell you what...if you can show that a majority of Democrats in Congress opposed the passage of the Civil Rights Act, I'll admit that I'm "grasping at straws."

I'll wait.

Indeed. Of course your implication goes two ways you know.

I have been doing a lot of research lately and I was shocked to find out that the Democrats are the party of racism. Anyone who doesn't know much about politics always hears in passing, "Republicans are racists who hate blacks." You hear it so much you begin to think it's fact.

But after doing research, I found out that it was the Democrats who started the KKK. The Democrats in the early days were against Black Republican leaders and were doing everything they could to stop black republicans. Democrats started Jim Crow laws and even fought to keep slavery. Republicans were the ones who fought to end slavery! This isn't something you hear in the mainstream media.

During the 60's when the civil rights laws were passed, a higher percentage of Democrats voted AGAINST these laws than Republicans! Lyndon B Johnson was a known racist who dropped n-bombs regularly with no remorse. Robert Byrd was a Democrat and a member of the KKK and he was a senator until 2010! Even today, the democratic party gives welfare to blacks so they get "just enough" to stay on the Democratic plantation and voting Democrat. Blacks were excited when Obama became President because he was gonna fix every problem in the black communities. Turns out he did nothing and blacks are actually worse off now after we had a black President!

So, how did this myth start that the "Republicans are racists?" If you look at history, it's obviously not true. Look at Candace Owens today. I haven't seen one Republican yell, "Get this black woman out of our party!" But I have seen many Democrats saying, "What an Uncle Tom! She needs to go back to the Democratic party!" How come Democrats are still being racist by trying to control black people?

Your thesis isn't necessary wrong, but you're citing the wrong reasons. The Dems are the party of racism, as the apparent contemporary strategy is to glue disparate groups together by their shared hatred of straight White men.

Actually, those particular facts are ALL completely irrelevant because the sea change of racists happened AFTER and BECAUSE of those votes.

Considering that mostly all the poor black cities are run by Democrats and they still continue to stay poor is evidence that the Democrats are still the racists. You would think all these black cities would be utopia by now if they are run by "the loving and caring equality for all Democrats."

Obama was going to turn it all around. That was supposed to be the big "we'll show 'em!" moment. It came and went. He did say a lot of, "We feel your pain, Chicago!" though. I guess that was nice of him.

You have some very strange ideas about the power of mayors to bestow prosperity.

And what was the 'it' you think Obama was going to turn around? If you think it was the economic prospects of the majority of Americans, remember that when he took office the country had already entered the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, and when he left office it was well along in the current economic upswing.

But if you think he was promising everyone a pony and you didn't get one, I understand your anger and confusion.

Many well-respected black men have spoken out against affirmative action. Who would know better than the blacks? Certainly not a racist on the left.

Maybe "the blacks" know which political party is more likely to discriminate against them too? Eh? Maybe we could look at the MODERN vote totals and MODERN party registrations of black people to see if we can figure out the question posed in the title of this thread?

Nah, that couldn't be right. THOSE "blacks" are too stupid to know which party is racist against them. Right?
