Does the political correctness on the left over-reach, turning people people off and causing them seek out opinions on the far right?

Does the political correctness on the left over-reach, turning people people off and causing them seek out opinions on the far right?

Why worry about the Left; they seem to be doing just fine. Barring any major screw-ups, Hilary has this in the bag.

I don't think it's so much that Trump is doing well; I think it's that everyone else in the GOP is doing poorly.

Hilary is not on the left at all.

Too bad Dennis Kucinich never got traction. That guy was willing (as mayor) to go to the mat for keeping Cleveland Power as a public utility when there was a lot of corruption trying to privatize it. He lost his mayorship over it, but it is still public.

Hilary is just a bunch of trailing behind the times blowhard talking points to maintain the image of being on the left.

Speaking of the left, I don't give a fuck about all this identity politics bullshit. Maybe since the wealth gap is getting as large as the Roaring Twenties people who know (at least subconsciously) they are getting exploited are turning to identity crap as an outlet or a whipping boy.

The problem is that the middle class is so hollowed out now that they will never come back especially with Citizen's Untited factored in. So basically, the identity (not class) aspect of PC is partially used now as a divide and conquer method.

While Hillary is a centrist, like Obama, she would be a lot less dangerous than any of the Republicans.

Right wingers cite crime and race statistics frequently.

Liberals not so much.

But what I'm confused about is whether you consider RW crime/race statistics debunked, or rather are you pointing out that LWers don't engage the statistics.

I can understand why you are confused.... because I haven't stated my position.

This was done purposely so we could focus on the actual point instead of people diverting the conversation with personal issues like discounting my argument because you can apply a label to me instead of thinking. See OP

Your argument is ideological, or has ideological implications.

If your construction was along the lines of nurturing types and authoritarian types alienating each other, ok, but I don't see why people in casual dialogue should feel obligated to engage you on stormfront crime stat manipulations simply because to you that constitutes honest discussion.

There is some argument here?

I see little but bad conclusions and a bunch of whining why others don't reach them.

When charged language like "Political Correctness" is thrown around in complete ignorance of what the term actually represents you don't have rational argument.

Rather like the over-use of the word "racist", huh untermensche.

What evidence do you have that the word is over used?

The term "Political Correctness" is not even a defined concept. It is meaningless.

It is merely a way to be intolerant with a smirk.

I don't think anyone wants to bring back lynching, just a time when you could say things meant to offend and disgust and then have no one call you on it and hurt your feelings.

Not even that--rather, what we are after is a time when you don't have to worry about hidden offense when none is intended.

I seem to recall a magical incantation one can use when one says something that offends someone else when one did not mean to ...

I'm sorry.

Rather like the over use of the word "racist", except that word did once have a meaning.

If you were a victim of racism you would be able to see it more clearly.

Or when encountering the police, feel it.

I was talking with an 83 year old black man last week. He told me about being denied entrance to college based on race and the racism he encountered in a segregated US Army.

Have his grandchildren been harmed because he was denied opportunity based on race?

Interesting how quickly people found some distraction rather than deal with the OP question.

I kind of knew I would be wasting my time on this forum... but I have to check every couple of months

Thanks for proving my point.

I can understand that maybe one person doesn't think Hilary is on the left, but two ... in a row? And even if you are both right - somehow in some kind of twisted use of the traditional definition - I believe the last I heard was that Hilary was winning in the overall polls.

Also, people seem to accept political correctness, at work, schools and other large social groups, so I don't think it will hurt the Democrats, Liberals, Leftists and whatever the hell else you want to call them very much. People are trying to respect others instead of kicking them while they are down, and there is something quite compassionate and humane about that.

First, if your argument can be shut down simply by calling it racist, your argument deserves to be shut down because your argument is WWEEEAAAKKKK!!!

You know what?

Cool.

I will raise neither argument nor finger to worry myself about your cause.

My neighborhoods aren't on fire. So I'll worry about keeping them that way.

Good luck with yours.

You do know that Hillary supported GW's terrorist attack of the Iraqi people? A true leftist, Bernie, did not.

She is probably more a political opportunist without any core beliefs merely seeking self aggrandizement, which probably describes most of these politicians, but she is not on the left.

As you know, almost all Americans believe in the meaningless and outdated concept 'race' and whoofle about it all the time. If you don't know you are racist you can't get out much, can you?

These dumb PC lefties even think that UKIP are fascist, opposing mass immigration is racist, and not allowing gay men to get married is homophobic - leftie bigots gone full circle - I call them regressive liberals

in fact they even encourage what they are trying to oppose, by demeaning the value of their terms, rather like how the one minute silence has now just become a kind of foreplay - ie: totally devalued through overusage

'Political Correctness' as a concept is like the 'International Jewish Conspiracy' believed in by Hitler. It is a defence of squalid race-hate by liars.

To me it has always just been treating people with respect, but apparently it is some sort of "shadow conspiracy".

Ah yes, I forgot. While I'm dark enough to qualify as a minority, I'm not qualified to comment on race when there are even darker minorities present.
