Considering they do excellent impressions of Pavlov's Dog, it's pretty obvious Russianpublicans are going to do the usual "It's from Teh Gruniad derp derp stoopid libruhl rofl111oneoneone".

Unfortunately, it's not just The Guardian reporting this. From the BBC:

Assange's barrister revealed the claim at Westminster Magistrates' Court ahead of an extradition hearing next week.

District Judge Vanessa Baraitser ruled the witness's evidence admissible.

The White House said the claim is "a complete fabrication and a total lie".

I really, really want to see if Trump will do his usual, "I don't know him, never heard of him" routine.

For some reason editing posts is no longer a thing but I had to add:

...annnnd I got my wish sort of

Mr Trump's press secretary Stephanie Grisham said the claim was "a complete fabrication and a total lie". "The President barely knows Dana Rohrabacher other than he's an ex-congressman," she said. "He's never spoken to him on this subject or almost any subject.

I can help Trump with that. Dana Rohrabacher was the guy you considered for being Secretary of State back in 2016. Hope that helps with your memory.

The White House confirmed the allegation by completely denying it.

Kevin McCarthy said:
There's two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump

Anyone remember this gem from Paul Ryan and family?

Editing posts is still a thing, you just have to edit them within a certain time frame. I think you have an hour or so to do your edits before the post is locked down. It has been this way for quite some time.

Edit: Oh, hi! I'm an edit.

Patooka is referring to the Edit fcn being somewhat broken for some users. Some people click on "Edit" and it shows a blank post. I thought it was being metaphorical regarding the value of my posts, but then realized that other people were having that problem too.

It doesn't happen all of the time, and it is a real First World pain in the butt.

Problem with the new server's firewall blocking some unicode. RayJ is trying to fix it.

For those playing along at home, today it was revealed that - in an amazing coincidence - the Trump administration fired and replaced the Director of National Intelligence that oversaw the report delivered to Congress that (again) stated that Russia was trying (and is still trying, and will continue) to interfere in the US election.

By all accounts, the outgoing DNI was berated by Trump for delivering this report to Congress. The replacement for this insubordinate official? Someone who has absolutely no experience in the intelligence community. Through the end of Trump's current term, the head of the US intelligence community will be a man whose only qualification is his loyalty to Trump.

Simply put, the Trump administration is purging anyone and everyone who rightly brings up "this Rusher thing."

*Bump*

Didn't realize, but this was confirmed by the Daily Caller (of all places) three years ago:

Rohrabacher told The Daily Caller in an exclusive interview Thursday that Assange is hoping to leave the Ecuadorian embassy in London where he is currently in asylum, and that during the meeting they explored “what might be necessary to get him out.”

The congressman told TheDC that “if [Assange] is going to give us a big favor, he would obviously have to be pardoned to leave the Ecuadorian embassy.”

Another Bump...

Kidnapping, assassination and a London shoot-out: Inside the CIA's secret war plans against WikiLeaks

In 2017, as Julian Assange began his fifth year holed up in Ecuador’s embassy in London, the CIA plotted to kidnap the WikiLeaks founder, spurring heated debate among Trump administration officials over the legality and practicality of such an operation.

Some senior officials inside the CIA and the Trump administration even discussed killing Assange, going so far as to request “sketches” or “options” for how to assassinate him. Discussions over kidnapping or killing Assange occurred “at the highest levels” of the Trump administration, said a former senior counterintelligence official. “There seemed to be no boundaries.”

The conversations were part of an unprecedented CIA campaign directed against WikiLeaks and its founder. The agency’s multipronged plans also included extensive spying on WikiLeaks associates, sowing discord among the group’s members, and stealing their electronic devices.

I wonder if Assange still supports Trump now.

What makes you think it was Trump's idea?

Also, do you realize that Assange is US's Navalny?

I don't think that's a good analogy at all. Navalny is very pro democracy. Anyone who helps Trump is the opposite of democracy.
You have been misinformed, anti-putin does not necessarily mean pro-democracy. And you implied that Assange is very anti-democracy.

Navalny in the beginning of his political career was a nationalist.

I'll admit that you know far more about Navalny than I do. Generally I think that you have to admire any person willing to stick up to Putin, one of the most powerful people in the world. The problem with Assange is that he only attacked democrats. He and his group was totally silent about the republicans. And then allegedly tried to help Trump. I suspect that they were greatly funded by conservatives. Anyone helping Trump is anti-democratic.
