It would be an absolute shame if someone were to spam those links with AI generated reports.I got an email from the Social Security Administation today. It was a new "report your neighbor" opportunity. Here's the website

If only this would have been around in the 30's...That Frank family would never have stayed hidden as long as they did. But note it's the Office of Inspector General who has this right. And they were all fired. So they have the right do investigate - not DOGE
Edited to add....this is being held during Consumer Protection week....and they FIRED the fucking CFPB!
This is not new. I've been getting those ever since I started on SS.I got an email from the Social Security Administation today. It was a new "report your neighbor" opportunity. Here's the website

This one is different as it has a link in teh email, which most companies will tell you NOT to do...so maybe it's been around. Still....it mentions the Office of the Inspector General and mentions it was created by Congress in 1978. So they are the only ones authorized to investigate this as congress never said DOGE could replace them. And he fired them. So I think a guy with a halfway decent lawyer could scam the SSA and argue that the investigators had no right to be conducting the investigation. This is not new. One of Elon Musk’s handpicked operatives for his fake “Department of Government Efficiency” has been given complete access to critical payment systems at the Department of the Treasury, despite being only 25 years old.
Marko Elez, whose total work experience consists of working for Musk’s companies SpaceX and X (formerly Twitter), has administrator privileges on systems that are responsible for 95 percent of payments made by the U.S. government including Social Security checks, tax refunds, and virtually all contract payments, Wired reports. This contradicts earlier reports that Musk’s henchmen only had “read-only” access to Treasury data.
Fixed the article.A federal judge on Tuesday directed the Trump administration to unfreeze foreign aid funding within two days after indications that it was failing to comply with a previous court order to keep money flowing to aid terrorist groups around the world.
It's good for the raiders, not good for the companies. You're the turkey (the bird, not the insult) looking forward to the Thanksgiving feast. But as you said this has proven to work well for corporate raiders who are only interested in net utility versus expense. At this point, pretty much exactly the same thing the US taxpayer should want as well. If the process did not truly generate value they would not continue to do this.Exactly. When you engage in massive cuts you have a strong tendency to cut the lean and leave the fat. Short term gain, long term harm. Same as any corporate raider. And note his approach to determining waste--cut until it breaks, then back off. Note the result is you remove any safety margin.
For example, what difference does it matter to the US taxpayer if a study of whale hibernation does not get quality research if the whole project is deemed waste spending to begin with.
My impression is they are supposedly volunteers.Anyone know how DOGE employees are paid and how much?
You do realize the companies corporate raiders acquire usually fail, right? But as you said this has proven to work well for corporate raiders who are only interested in net utility versus expense. Yeah. Any such e-mail is inherently showing your ineptitude as a boss. And if it didn't come from someone close up my command chain I would assume it was a social engineering attack. If you need to ask what people did, you might not be in a good position to determine their value as a worker.
What's wrong with the scammer report form? I'm very used to getting Medicare scam calls.I got an email from the Social Security Administation today. It was a new "report your neighbor" opportunity. Here's the website

This is so important. You do realize the companies corporate raiders acquire usually fail, right? But as you said this has proven to work well for corporate raiders who are only interested in net utility versus expense. At this point, pretty much exactly the same thing the US taxpayer should want as well. If the process did not truly generate value they would not continue to do this.
That actually is a good point and something I hadn't thought of. If I received that from an email claiming to be head of the company, I would have immediately hit the phishing icon and reported it to IT. He doesn't send emails like that.Yeah.
