Evan McMullin (Independent Conservative) who has a chance of winning in UTAH. He can’t win the Presidency outright since he is standing in 11 States.

A note on the article:
At the event, he pointed to a Ku Klux Klan-affiliated newspaper this week running an editorial praising Trump, and a robo call placed in Utah against him by a white nationalist Trump supporter this week.

However:
the Communist Party endorsed Hilary Clinton
It doesn’t mean Trump is KKK or Clinton is a communist.

He believes Trump and Clinton are both pretty bad candidates.

Which communist party endorsed Hillary?

Evan McMullin represents those republicans (Mormons, mostly) who won't compromise their moral beliefs for the sake of victory over the democrats.

The reason he's not a bigger deal is that ultimately, there are very few republicans who won't.

Say what you will about the Mormons, they put their money where their mouth is. A quality all too rare on the 'religious right.'

My error. CPUSA seems to have endorsed Bernie Sanders but its leader John Bachtell said he'd vote for Clinton. With 2,000 or so members I don't think that will cause a landslide. On the other hand if I were an American and the CPSUA was standing I'd probably rate it more trustworthy than the other two.

CPUSA National Chairman John Bachtell actually supported U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. But when it became obvious to everyone—except the Sanders supporters—that Hillary Clinton would be the Democrat nominee, he announced he would vote for her in the November election.

Actually, he could win the presidency.

In the event that no candidate gets the required 270 EVs for outright victory, the 12th Amendment dictates that the top three presidential electoral vote-getters’ names are sent to the incoming House, with each state delegation getting one vote.

There is no doubt that if the incoming House were dominated by Democrats, Hillary would then be selected. But it is more likely that the Republicans would control the House - and they might well prefer McMullin over Trump. Trump is the anti-establishment candidate, so if the House Republicans - ie the establishment - get to choose, he may be less palatable to them then McMullin.

A McMullin presidency would require a string of unlikely things to happen - He would need to win Utah; Both Trump and Clinton would need to fall short of 270 EVs; The incoming House would need to have a GOP majority; And those GOP representatives would need to decide that McMullin was a better option than Trump.

It's extremely implausible. But it isn't actually impossible.

Benjamin Morris provides more details of this scenario on the 538 blog here: http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-evan-mcmullin-could-win-utah-and-the-presidency/

The Republicans don't need to hold control of the House to win if the House decides the election. They need only control 26 or more delegations. CA with 53 congressmen gets the same one vote as WY which only has one congressman.

You are correct. That makes it even less likely that the Democrats could select Hillary, were the Electoral College to be deadlocked.
