Didn't know whether to put this in Religion or Politics, but it's here for now because it show yet again, the insanity of Religion....

The former leader of the South Carolina Republican Party killed his mom’s dog while living at home with his parents — and told police that God told him to because he’s the second coming of Christ.

The State reported that Todd Kincannon, once an attorney and executive director of the state’s GOP, has had a steep fall from grace that’s resulted in his most recent arrest for “cruelly” killing his mother’s 10-year-old dog Bailey.

“I’m the second coming of Christ and I got a command from God to do it,” the former GOP official said.

According to the arrest warrant, the 37-year-old Greenville County resident “intentionally, willfully, maliciously, cruelly and needlessly” tortured the beagle mix by first choking the dog and then stabbing it multiple times with two separate knives.

When police came to Kincannon’s parents’ house, he was found covered in blood and fur and was wearing only his underwear.

This isn’t the first time the former attorney and GOP official has had trouble with the law. In 2015, Kincannon was arrested for threatening his wife and locking her in his car. He blamed the incident on being under the influence of cough syrup.

The bold is mine, and I laughed out loud, even though I shouldn't.

In earlier times he would have been hailed as a great prophet or some other kind of religious superstar. Unfortunately natural selection doesn't so approve of such behavior for the most part these days.

Clearly this person has a broken brain by today's standards. His family will go through hell coming to terms.

You can't prove that he's not the second coming of Christ, therefore he is the second coming of Christ*, therefore he was justified in killing that dog.

* This is a parody of the shifting the burden of proof fallacies favored by both Christians and Muslims.
