Exclusive: McCarthy gives Tucker Carlson access to trove of Jan. 6 riot tape

So in essence, Murdock has admitted that Fox and Carlson are serial liars and yet McCarthy has given Carlson exclusive access to the videos. Does that suggest that McCarthy is expecting Carlson to use the videos to lie?

Answer Yes. It's what McCarthy wants
And that's exactly what Carlson did. Had his staff put together a report that lied about everything. Because both Murdoch and Tucker know that their audience will believe it. Because their hardcore audience never saw a minute of the January 6th Committee hearings, nor did they see any footage of the riot...because they were watching Fox!

Bonus points...the hardcore audience doesn't know about the whole "Fox hosts laugh at their stupid viewers" thing because Fox (obviously) never reported on it. Lying turtles all the way down.

Wanna know what's worse? Fox is now the "moderate" network in the minds of the right wing. "Yeah, they used to be good, but I'd rather watch Newsmax or OAN...they're more objective!"

Evem McCarthy anc McConnell are calling Carson's video essentially a deception. What did McCarrthy expecting. This whole thing shows how McCarthy's position completely dep3nds on letting ilk like MTG to whip him around by the balls. McCarthy is a powerless kept figurehead,
You are looking at this from a rational bubble, though. In your echo chamber there are rational thoughts expressed and do-gooders examining behaviors of GOP Senators saying truth, disavowing Cucker Tarlson. But you have to look at big pictures. Those require that nefarious characters say both truth and lies for the same purpose, sometimes simultaneously.

The GOP Machine is always pushing the Overton window. Fox News & Friends lost some radical viewers to OAN and NewsMax, so they are trying to get them back. Cucker is especially motivated by stock price and profit. When just a few GOP senators come out against Cucker, it's already been calculated who can get away with it because they play the part as moderates (or RINOs) to the radicalized bubble.

Take, for example, someone like magic-underwear-wearing Romney. He is now perceived as a moderate by the left and a traitor by the far right. The majority of Republicans in his region must still find him acceptable, though. He told the truth, made some rational comments in regard to Cucker. But what has he done as far as action that could conceivably make changes to the GOP propaganda machine? Ethics probe support? Non-binding resolution to disavow Cucker's propaganda? Some action to get other media access to the tapes? How about any GOP Senator?

As far as McCarthy, he wants to tread a dangerous line. One where enough radicalized conservatives make noise to support the agenda and push the center, but not enough to make him lose power. So he gives the tapes over and then disavows the propaganda. He's not an out-of-power figurehead, it's just how his role is played in the Theatre of Crazy.
