FCC suspends foreign investment rule in RADIO

This is not good. Allowing Cumulus to be 100% controlled by foreign entities certainly seems like a recipe for disaster.

You're right. This is a disaster!

IMO, the same should apply to television as well. No ownership by foreign entities of any news media in the US, period, except where clearly advertised as such: Kremlin News and Times, BBC America (yes, one is made up and the other is legit and no, they are not intended to be equivalent).

So what? Radio isn't a meaningful source of news anymore.

Nor do all the oldass republicans listening to Limbaugh or Infowars, or whatever the modern equivalent is these days.

It's a source of propaganda, not a source of news. Foreign investors won't change that.

You don't know what they will do so stop acting like you do.

Why is there an anti-foreign investment rule in the first place? Aren't you guys usually against xenophobic laws like that?

Most likely so some country like Russia can't buy up radio stations and have them spreading propaganda 24/7. I guess the FCC leadership feels that FOX News, OAN, Rush and all the little Rush clones are not doing a good enough job.
