Sure, we could make fun of the Republican National Committee "accidentally" sending Maryland Republicans to a porn site for the last half year. But—no, wait, let's just make fun of them.According to The Capital Gazette, the Maryland Republican Party changed its Twitter handle in January from “mdreps” to “mdgop.” When it abandoned the first account, “Sexy Car Babes” took over and filled the page with NSFW images and ads for “live sex chat.” But the RNC didn’t revise the links on the GOP.com website.
So for seven-ish months now, any Maryland Republicans who were searching for the Twitter account of the state Republican Party were instead directed, by the RNC, to something called "Sexy Car Babes." We can presume, from this, at least one of the following things:
• During the entirety of 2018, not one Republican clicked the link provided for the Maryland Republican Party. Not one.
• Some Republicans did click the link, but did not bother to complain when the Republican Party instead sent them to a porn site because, ya know, close enough.
• Republicans did complain, but for the last half-year there has been not one person in the entire Republican National Committee infrastructure who has bothered to open those emails.
In any event, the link is now fixed.
