For those of you who think MAGA Trump supporters are in a cult

Epstein was in prison when an unknown event occurred during minutes of footage deleted from the camera using an Adobe editing product.

We will not know why Epstein died or how or whether he had help "killing himself".

Suspicious autopsy evidence too.

Those documents were locked until late 2024 due to the Maxwell trial still being in process.
And should have been released the second it was over. And why the fuck she is the only one in prison?
It does not make sense.
Epstein was in prison when he killed himself.

We don't even know if he died. He could be alive somewhere in Israel or Argentina recovering from plastic surgery.

Literally anything is possible.

He could be posting at IIDB under the username "barbos".
or bilby
The IP address involved seems incorrect. It's not like Bilby is responding from a Russian IP address or some sketchy third world proxy.

Now some sketchy-ass mother fucker who IS clearly posting from a Russian IP? That's much more concerning, seeing how Trump and Epstein may be connected to Russia and Russian Kompromat networks.

Maybe not a cult, but not healthy

A new psychological study has found that people who report favorable views of Donald Trump also tend to score higher on measures of callousness, manipulation, and other malevolent traits—and lower on empathy and compassion. The findings, based on two large surveys of U.S. adults, shed light on how personality traits relate to political beliefs, including support for Trump and conservative ideology. The research was recently published in the Journal of Research in Personality.

Sure, Russia is way more powerful than Israel when it comes to Kompromat networks. We practically own US and Australia for that matter.

It's more suspicious than that analysis indicates.

There are two bruises for the ligature mark on the victim's right hand side (assuming it's not reversed).

With a hanging, we would expect a a single mark, but with that, it looks like the ligature shifted, as if being strangled by someone who shifted their grip or angle.

Like he got a quick over-the-head with a garotte held down, as if directly behind and pushing the "victim" to his knees with the force, sparing the sides of the neck; and then pulling the handles across each other, pulling it more perpendicular and causing heavier bruising to the back and sides of the neck.

Or if doing your own half-assed hanging kind of on-the-fly, using only the materials,
room configuration, etc you happen to have on hand.

That reads better as screenplay than autopsy, doctor.

Please note: I am not taking a side on his death being suicide or murder. I don’t know, either way, probably never will, and I’m okay with that.

Those bruises are also quite thin to be done with a rolled up bed sheet, unless he tore the sheet to make it smaller.

Was there something in his cell tall enough to hang himself from?

It's possible with a very low object, depending on how it's done, but that was almost certainly strangulation by a thin cord.

Abstract
Trump is a butt grape as are those who support Trump.

Well thank you august Journal of Research in Personality. My mouth is agape. Sarcasm? Yes. But I suppose someone had to go through the motions of conducting studies to prove the blindingly obvious.

I hear (less often read) this word "concerning" (meaning "worrying") several times per week, lately.

I do NOT recall EVER hearing the term used in this context in the 20th century.

I examined the 'concerning' entries on old versions of Webster-Merriam with the Wayback Machine.

2006 - form of a verb without comment
2010 - form of a verb; also a preposition meaning 'regarding.'
2018 - similar to 2010.
2019 - similar to 2020.
2020:
concerning adjective

Definition of concerning (Entry 2 of 2)
: causing concern or worry : creating reason for concern : troubling
found the latest reports very concerning
"It's extremely concerning that drivers still choose to give their attention to things other than the road when they're behind the wheel," said [Texas Department of Transportation] Executive Director James Bass. — The Nueces County Record Star
… carbapenems should not be administered to patients with positive penicillin skin test results or a concerning history of a type I allergic response to penicillin.— Alan R. Salkind et al.

Did this "new" usage come into vogue shortly before 2019? Or (more likely) does the dictionary's evolution just reflect that company's on-going efforts and investments?

@Swammerdami

I mean, I would wager it's because it's more an uncommon use, because it doesn't come up to need very often.

I would go so far as to say that concern:involvement is a part of concern:worry, being used instead of of "worrying".

The concept of involvement with a connotation for worry specifically is I think why you are seeing this use more recently. Because it's not just "I'm worried"; it's got this thread of "because now I think this is really a problem that involves me somehow".

Here's another example of a strangulation staged to look like a suicide: One of the best scenes from one of the best TV series.
That contains a stunning piece of wonderful logic: strangulation takes time and access and planning.
