Glenn Beck: "Liberals, you were right."

What about Obama? Is he a liberal? He is by his rhetoric but not by his performance.

But you just said that liberals were the ones who nominated Kerry. Which is it?
I'll give you a hint.

Liberals opposed the invasion of Iraq.

Kerry and Hillary Clinton voted for it. They are both slightly right of center. It's just that the Republicans have moved so far right the center looks like the left to many. Reasonableness looks like a radical position.

There are very few liberals in the Congress. A handful. If you want an example of a liberal you have to look at somebody like the late Paul Wellstone.

How do you define a liberal and where were they? Does opposition to the Iraq War automatically make you a liberal? Then Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, and Pat Buchanan are liberals. If not, what does? Support for Obamacare or Hillarycare?

Oh for fucks sake. One could just as easily say "How do you define a libertarian and where were they?" when it came to 2003. Libertarians didn't become such a hot-topic term until sometime around 2008 when the Neo-cons were on the outs and the Republicans were too ashamed to call themselves Republicans anymore. So a bunch of old white fucks simply started calling themselves Libertarians and advanced mostly the same exact policies as the Neo-cons before them with only two real major distinctions: 1. Being less hawkish because the debacle that they all cheered for in 2003 turned out to be a shitshow of epic magnitude and 2. Trying to focus the entirety of their efforts on the national debt and implementing crippling austerity measures, mostly as a cover for their switching stances on 1.

And yes, we all know you're one of the "true" libertarians, but that counts for about as much as people calling themselves "true" socialists, which is to say jack shit. The fact is that the term "libertarian" at this point simply means Tea Party candidates co-opted by robber-barons trying to take control of government in order to ensure that neo-feudalism is the new order of the day, and "libertarian" back in 2003 meant a herd of cats with absolutely zero political power and even less name-recognition than socialists. Socialists might have been and might still be a term that is despised by a lot of Americans, but at least it was a term that people had heard of in 2003, while "libertarian" might have been something most people would have mistaken for "librarian" on their civics exams.
